Is their anything wrong with doing this - in circumstances such as when you are looking to multi-task, game - and also keep the laptop on for a long period of time. I know fans kick in when they reach a specific temperature - though wouldn't it lengthen the life time of the parts - if they were always kept at a very low temperature throughout - such as below 50 celcius?
Myself, the only drawback I am getting at would be that - it would be noisy - as well as - fans are likely to die sooner rather than later. But surely, replacing a fan is much more worth it then - having to replace a fried GPU/CPU![]()

Also battery life goes down, but I guess if you're gaming you would be on AC power.
If you can find a replacement fan, I suggest you get your hands on it while you can. So that you can feel safe leaving your fan on all the time. -
You are better of using a good laptop cooling pad.

lol, i have a problem with my hp pavilion's silly cooling.in games gpu is usually 83C fans spinnig at half speed.when there is moments which do a more stress on gpu gpu gets 90C and still fans spin at half speed.in order for fan to speed at high speed the cpu should be heated more but i dont want high temps on cpu.how can i control the speed of the fan?is it possible by flashing gpu's bios?

Notebook cooling pad and thermal paste and undervolting helps.. don't try to do this.. u'll wear out ur fans and cause problems later on...
-
I use I8kfanGUI for dell http://www.diefer.de/i8kfan/index.html + a laptop cooler
Regarding wearing out your fan: your fan is $5 and your cpu is like $100, which one would you sacrifice?

THIS
Undervolting does help quite a bit as does getting rid of the crap thermal compound that *usually* comes with most notebooks. Unless it's a custom built like a Sager/Clevo where you can specify it. Notebook cooling pads work, but obviously most convenient only at home. -
Keeping the FAN at maximal all the time will kill the FAN in no time. LOL.
If you want a cool CPU, I will list out all the stuffs you can do here:
a.) Undervolt using 3rd party software
b.) Clean up the DUST regularly
c.) Apply Thermal Paste(arctic silver 5)
d.) A good Cooler
Here is the more advance method:
a.) H2O Cooling System
b.) Liquid Nitrogen Cooling System -

I like to lodge a pencil in the fan to keep it from spinning.

If you're being sarcastic, then the post isn't all that helpful to the OP especially if he/she takes it seriously.
To the OP: If you have a Dell PC then I8kfanGUI is a program that will allow you to run fans at maximum all the time when configured properly. Like others have already stated, it's a REALLY bad idea. -

Probably because your notebook is full of copper, so you don't need a fan. -
Have to agree very irrelevant and not to mention dumb idea... no pencil is gonna fit through the vents..
