Is there a way around this? Something I'm doing wrong? And as a side note, that game must be alot more demanding than I thought. I have to put it on medium-high details with no AA and 2xAF to get a smooth framerate. Maybe it's optimus, or singleplayer is more demanding? Oh well, it still looks good on those settings.

    Should run pretty good.
Cant say i had performance issues on my notebook.

My specs are similar to you but i got AMD hardware.
That game runs good even on a desktop ATI Radeon HD 4770.

Thanks Nut. And DE, the game looks fine, but you'd think i could max out something with lower reqs than TF2.

I agree, a 560m should have no issues at all with a game like Killing Floor.

I suppose it's an optimus issue, because my laptop isnt getting nearly as hot, and a 560M shouldn't be playing on medium everything and get fps drops in the 20s... how should I test to see whether its on the Nvidia or the IGP?

Also, for Christmas Killing Floor zombies are reskinned into Twisted Christmas zombies. That could have something to do with it, too.

Well, glad you got it fixed.

How you liking it so far? Of my steam library, I have the most hours on it.

Honestly, I love it. the Co-Op is amazing, the players are alot more experienced and mature than on L4D2, and I love playing LAN with my brother. He has a mobility radeon x300, and it runs on medium details @ 1280x1024 with 2x AF. Some people may think it looks outdated, ( I think it looks fine, doesn't have to be crysis to look good ) but the ability for me to play LAN games (also had no hassle whatsoever with that) with my brother on his ancient computer is a huge plus. For $5, I couldn't be happier.

Rock on. KF is a very nuanced game, and there's a lot of tricks that you can learn to make yourself truly effective. To top it off, the code is easily accessible (they're viewable as text files) which can give you further insight into the gameplay.

For example, Fleshpounds (big Nutcracker guys) have a resistance to almost all weapons in the game... except explosives. They take double damge from hand grenades and pipes, and +25% from grenade launchers.

Bloats (the fatties) take +50% from fire attacks. Scrakes (Icemen) will get "stunned" and be unable to move or attack if you deal 667+ damage in a single hit.

All this is viewable in the code. It makes for interesting strategies.

Killing Floor is definitely an awesome game. I never understood why people constantly compare it to Left 4 Dead, though...the two really have very little in common.
