Wow I didn't expect it to be a completely blatant rip off haha. It looks like they took all the 'meet the ____' trailers, replaced the characters and redid the setting.

Gameplay looks completely different though (other than the classes).

i have 2 humorous responses to this game:

hmmm... it looks like a odd mix between toy story, team fortress two, and a hentai movie.

    and:

oh.... what kind of person does it take to own hundreds of scantily clad action figures and the ocassional super ugly robot?

This is definitely a plain rip-off of Team Fortress 2. Somehow the third-person action reminds me of Quake 3 Arena. Maybe it's the crosshair.

But it looks pretty fun. Next thing you know more people are going to ruin it in the future, but let's not focus on that right now.

The game looks interesting, yet odd at the same time, reminds me of those figurine games one would play as a kid... Hah.

I do not really think that it is meant to be a Team Fortress 2 Rip-Off, but rather, that the developers took inspiration on Team Fortress 2, who am I to judge, though? The truth lies in the eye of the beholder.

I might play this game if it ever makes it to America, it looks somewhat more appealing than Team Fortress 2 to me, Toy Massacre is always fun...

"H.A.V.E. is currently in beta, and its publisher SK iMedia has not made a comment about the Team Fortress 2 likeness."

So its in Beta no word on release though.

It's as different from TF2 as TF2 is from any other game in the genre....maybe they should have used different music for the video though. ;)

It doesn't look that much like TF2. It's more like Army Men like someone else noted. And if that's the case then TF2 is a ripoff of Army Men, an 11 year old game!

It looks nothing like TF2 (which incidentally is no different than every other FPS game out there.)

This game actually looks EXACTLY like a higher-quality version of the Korean game GunZ Online, which came out in 2003, English version in 2005 (many years before TF2 came out.)

    Here's a clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=beeFNReCoyY

Hopefully this will help some doubters see similaritites....ALSO the Korean community is actually really upset about this game because they feel that this is a disgrace to all other Korean made games.

I mean, how far do you take this? You can find similarities in many games. I don't care either way because I don't really play TF2 (on occasion) or any Korean games. But I've played and seen so many similar games, including TF2, which IMHO is nothing original or special, it's not fair to call it a TF2 knockoff.

Are you trying to prove to us that they are totally dissimilar lol it appears thats what you are doing.

Sorry to say but they still don't look alike.

    I highly doubt that tbh.

Also check out these images I quickly took of each. Guess which one looks like which. :)

    This game vs Gunz

    This game vs TF2
    http://www.cubeupload.com/files/8a8200tf2gameplay.jpg

I'm no expert, but the only Korean games I've played in the past were Ragnarok Online, Gunz, and Gunbound. All of them were pretty fun honestly speaking. Most of the fun games are in Korean, since I don't know any Korean. They have television networks dedicated to gaming. So there's a huge language limitation in the games available that we are able to play (most of them are free as were the ones I mentioned earlier, which clearly leads to problems financially.) I haven't played any games in years though.

    Quote from Kotaku:

H.A.V.E. Online is being called "an embarrassment" to the Korean game industry.
Last week, we reported that its publisher SK iMedia has not commented about the likeness. Well, the company finally has made a statement. Korean web portal DC News did a phone interview with the publisher. "Debating (as to if it's a rip off or not) is like having blind men touching an elephant and describing what it looks like," said SK iMedia. "We will reveal the gameplay soon. Other than that, we have no comment at this time."

I dont see the big deal, its not like we can always come up with new things, so at times you just have to improve or change old ones.

Its not like you see bounty picking a fight with charmin saying they had designs on a toilet paper rolls first and they copied them.

Just let the best man win :D

I actually like how this looks, reminds me of TF2 and some of the mod maps I used to play for another game, but I forget what game that was.

Somebody said they have "toy" maps for TF2 where everything is large? I totally gotta see those, any map names?

They're being called an embarassment by whom? That's some highly biased language there. You'd be clearly cited for bias if this was American news. Imagine a newspaper saying "Barack Obama is being called a Muslim terrorist" and leaving it like that for its readers.

Yes the producers have the right framing in mind.

Let's put it this way, why isn't there a debate on whether or not the publishers are child molesting terrorists??? Think about it.

In the end, the pictures you posted don't look a thing like TF2 in contrast to what I posted. Cool intro to the game though, hope there's an english version coming out. :D

I find it sickening that it took 9 years to create an amazing game like TF2 which is extremely fun and has unique classes that suit everyone's needs.

And then some other company comes-steals all the ideas and aspects of the game that make it unique and make a cheap ropoff of it in a year to make some money.

But that is just my opinion.

Took 9 years to create TF2? I don't think so. It may have been released 9 years after the original TF. Again, look at the similarities of TF2 to Army Men if you want to make comparisons.

in 1998 the game was announced and they started working on it. In 1999 it was revealed at E3(it was obviously very different than it is today). It was released in 2007

    AKA 9 years.

You said the 'Korean community is actually upset' about this. I doubt it, if I can't even see similarities as an objective observer.

I'm not Korean (see name), just stating my opinions. You seem to be offended actually that people aren't agreeing with you, since you've been posting so much. ;) I'm just having a good time refuting some of the claims by posting evidence. Do You have some sort of bias or stake in this? You posted pictures that have no similarities and you're eagerly trying to convince everyone they're similar, unconvincingly.

True. Besides the fact that the game play looks nothing like each other (TF2 vs this game), FPS games are extremely monotonous to say the least.
