    I've been wanting to play L4D ever since.
    I m trying to find the demo but was told that it is not available anymore.
    Does someone has the demo anymore?

    Even if we did, I don't think we could just send it your way. Since it's a Valve game, it has to be activated through Steam, and since they're not offering it, I don't think it would even install.

    Correct, if it's not available/allowed on steam, even if you managed to get the files, the game wouldn't play.

    i just bought crysis from a friend.
    Do i need the cd in the optical drive when playing the game?
    I'm new to pc gaming.

    Not sure about the first Crysis, but for Crysis:Warhead mine plays without a CD

    how do i run crysis in dx9?

    If you didn't create a desktop shortcut when you installed, create one by going to C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis\BIN32, right click on Crysis.exe, and select create shortcut. Then drag the shortcut to your desktop.

    Right click on the shortcut, click properties, and then in the field where it says target, add a -dx9 after the quotation marks.

    So it should look like...

    "C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis\BIN32\Crysis.exe" -dx9

    Then just run it from that shortcut and it will run in directx 9 mode.
