It seems like they have a demo as well. Thoughts? Who is getting this? Do you think Valve will offer a discount eventually for existing L4D owners?
-
they will DEFINITELY offer discount for current l4d owners.
-
Oh young naive minds
I'll just get it if someone gives it to me at christmas or if valve puts it at 25$. -

I'm gonna wait till they have like a 50% sale on it, I figure I'll get borderlands late october as my 4 player coop shooter game and I'm not gonna need to get L4D2 anytime soon after that -
Have any proof of this? I haven't seen any official announcements stating this (yet).
-
Also waiting on a 50% off sale before I buy this.
I don't think there is any discount for current L4D owners. Where did you see this? Because that is one of the reasons why so many people are boycotting L4D2; because they are charging full price to everyone including L4D owners -
yea waiting for 50% sale, gotta love those deals...btw TONITE ME + SS + MAO + ELEMENTAL on steam, be there we can have 4v4 versus games in L4D then finish the nite off with tf2 (9pm-2am = L4D, 2:30am-6am = tf2). haha
-
Well, maybe not to only current L4D owners but there is no doubt in my mind that the sales from L4D 2 will not be up to the number of L4D so valve will get desperate.
-
I'll prb. pick up L4D 2 during the Christmas sale. I'm in no hurry to play it. I also doubt valve will over discounts to current L4D owners, but I have not seen anything that would suggest one way or another.
-
I will defo get it. Probably wait and see if they do any deal's on it though.
-
I'll wait until there are more details about the game and such before I buy.
-
Yea I think ima wait until its the christmas sale. This time around im not in a hurry for a zombie shooting game since l4d and killing floor already full filled it. Also there are so many other games I still have to play and yea Border Lands looks awesome!
-
I think I might be the only one that's going to pick it up on release day

I'll wait for a big sale, the first game did not impress me enough to have me get the 2nd one right away. Also I feel they outsourced the first one way too soon.
-
While I will probably purchase L4D2 eventually, I'm still working on L4D (not bored of it yet). I'm kind of worried what will happen to the current L4D community.
-
One L4D is good enough for me. Maybe I'll get L4D2 if someone hands me 12 billion dollars and I can't think of anything else to spend it on.

As long as the fans of the original game keep making good custom campaigns, I'm not switching anytime soon.
-
Exactly my feelings. But most deff. worth more than the 15 dollars I spent on it during a sale.
-
definitely. and you need to recommend some more for me. all of the ones you've recommended so far were a blast.

Agreed, maybe on one of those $9.99 weekend a few months down the road. -

I for one am really sick of people crying for a discount. It had extremely limited variation in the first place, yet it was still critically acclaimed. So now that we can snuff out the "no epic story like comparable shooters," argument. It is like me asking for a discount on modern warfare 2. It makes no sense... Also pre purchase a steam game lol. What the incentive? To own it 5 seconds before everyone else, and you do not have to click through the buying options on release day. Weak. In case they run out of licenses? HA. If you must own it at launch at least get it in store for the retail box and all, its a PC game, they will have ample copies, yes you will have to place the disk in the drive and wait 30 minutes, so it might not be for everyone.

If people actually felt like it was worth the 49.99, I'm sure there would be a lesser desire for a discount. Lets not even get into the fact that we're still making our way out of a recession...
There are also two major incentives for pre-purchasing on steam, I think you take a look on the steam website before you so readily criticize pre-ordering. -
The ability to download the game before the masses is a nice plus of pre-puchasing a game. Often on the release day for a big game the Steam servers get very bogged down and people aren't able to finish the download for over a day.
-
I definitely *want* to buy L4D2, but I'm afraid my laptop isn't going to be fast enough. Valve is recommending a 2.4 GHz dual-core. I've got a 2.0 GHz c2d, 4gb ram, and 8600MGT (Compal IFL-90), and L4D is already full of video-lag in big panic events -- with video settings on absolute lowest.
-
Since I have 3 friends that want it, I might get the 4 pack for $135 and split it with them.
