Mostly I'm looking for an answer to the age-old "Can I run it" question, but I'm also curious about whether or not the PC version is a decent port, unlike GTA IV for example which essentially requires a quad core to run.
So what's the word? I'm trying to do less volume gaming and more quality gaming, and my brief experience with LA Noire is such that I definitely want to play it sometime, so ...
Can I run it?

I couldn't run it even though my hardware is more than adequate. I had to pirate the game just to get it to load.
I don't know if they've fixed the issue at this point, because I removed the DRM. -

I could not even get to the main menu due to DRM. I run it on my HTPC with a 360 controller, so I'm not sure how well it will run on laptop hardware.
-
i was not able to play it on my 5850 and i7 quad core because i could never get to the main menu. I however doubt i missed anything it looks like a bad bollywood crime movie.
P.S i got it for free -
I wouldn't expect anything less than terrible console port from Rockstar and a and crap on PC Gamers' faces.
-
By the sounds of it, the only crime you will be investigating if you buy this is piracy...
-
I didn't have any issues with DRM, but honestly, I just wasn't that impressed with the gameplay/mechanics... I guess I was expecting something different, was excited about this one, but was slightly disappointed. Performance wise it does run noticeably smoother than GTAIV.

That's all a real shame - what I've played of it was some of the most compelling gaming I've done in a long time. I guess I'll be waiting, though - maybe when it goes sub-$10 I'll pick it up and I'll just have to find a way around or through the DRM.
Still, anyone who can report how a first-gen mobile i5 and gimped 5650m will run LA Noire (assuming the DRM is surpassed) will get points in my book, since nobody has addressed that question yet. -
Can you buy from Amazon? They are selling it for $12.49 this week.

I run La Nire great on my 9800m gts and x9100 @ 720p highest settings no AA, 16x AF (through Nvidia control panel, in game maximum is 4 -.- which is ugly).
I love the game, although I do no approve of Team Bondi's management.
Judging on the quality of the game alone I do recommend it, the game runs a bit tougher than most other games, sometimes in car chase scenes fps does drop from a smooth 35+ to 25-30 fps but which is nothing too noticeable.
Loving the story but I stopped playing it completely when Skyrim and Batman AC came out.
Those 2 games are just too much. Haven't been playing MW3 either XD -
I have it installed on both my systems, runs just fine no problems. The graphic's and sound are very enjoyable. Love the story lines, but then I am up there in age and can remember streets and people looking like they do in the game. Wow now I think about it scarey..

It's playable but by no means good. Neither most of the settings nor resolution selected has any real impact on performance.
I tends to lag in certain random moments for no good reason (like when you're in a basement and there's really not much to render and no AI in the vicinity)
Performance is far worse than GTA IV which I played on the same laptop with the same OC settings. -

on my Alienware m14x (overclocked geforce 555m and i7 2630 cpu), LA NOIRE runs fantastic on almost all high settings.
-
The game is pretty good, nice mechanics that are fresh in the genre.

Game slows down from 30fps to 2 every 5-7 seconds on my notebook so i deleted the 18GB waste of space.
GTA4 ran on high details everything else on low or off except for cars at 30 in 1080p with definition off on my rig so yeah I know how to make things work.
I highly recommend Saints row the third since it runs in 720p and medium and looks awesome while playing fluidly, if you want an open world game. -
Oh dear...I put everything on max (except AA and AF) and I got a good ol' "In you face!" 12-18 avg FPS
-
Updating from Catalyst 11.12 to 12.1 gave an extra 6-7 FPS.
-
I bought it from Steam and I've had no issues playing it. Quite a good game but different from the expected style (not action, not GTA).
-
-
Played it with no problems from DRM, no crashiness, no glitching, nothing of the sort.
I actually really enjoyed the game. Maybe that's because I'm a sucker for detective noir. The Maltese Falcon, The Big Sleep, and Murder, My Sweet - watch them all if you can find the time. -
It is interesting when it works, as it doesn't run unless Steam is started with admin privileges (FU Rockstar!). Ever since I updated my Nvidia drivers to 310.90, performance has dropped dramatically, from smooth 25 fps+ on max settings down to 12fps. My nvidia chip is on even though it runs like the game is using the intel chip, as open hardware monitor indicated the clocks for my GTX 660m were pushed to the max during gameplay.

So still no solution for the 30fps cap? I was hoping I could find one before playing the game.

I'm kind of laughing about people not being able to "make it through the DRM"... Seriously?
