I look forward to waking up at 5am to milk my virtual cows.

I have steam on my Facebook and they are always putting this on sale. To each their own, I guess.

There are fun farming games like harvest moon though, but it's not realtime. A realtime farming game though is way too slow...

Harvest Moon 64 was one of my favorite games for the N64..and it held its value! I sold my games for the n64 last year or so and got 18 dollars for it!

This is a bad idea. If this has any sort of realism there are going to be craploads of angry people when thier crops/livestock don't grow and die because there is way too much for the modern farmer to have to do for some joe average to learn in a little instruction pamphlet. Can't wait for the first person that tries to apply liquid nitrogen to their fields for growing corn "but it said I need nitrogen rich soil . . . ". Corn season approaching means you load up the spreader with manure and get to slingin them cow pies all over your field :)

I was a farm hand for years so maybe I should get this game and be one of the only experienced people that would play it so I can be in the top 100 in the world at the game rotfl. No real farmer is going to play this unless they lost thier farm in which case they still wouldnt play it.

You could probably play that on an emulator on your PC if you miss it that much.

I seem to remember a game just like this coming out a few years back, can not remember the name now. It may have been the same. But I do remember that there was one like it. Hmm now I will have to go and look and if it was ,see how well it did.

With all the programs out on TV now Where people are do just this type of thing . Reality is the new I got to try it now . Reality TV is every where on every channel to the point of making me nutz trying to find something to watch.

Anyway I would not be surprised if this Farming game does better than we think as already I have seen more than a few people talking about it and wondering if the game is any good . And what it is like.

I'm not dissing farming and farmers in the least. It's a very hard, and a lot of times, thankless job. I grew up in the country and had a lot of friends who lived on farms and I am thankful I didn't because those boys were put to work. Granted they were stronger than I ever was. :)

But to simulate it seems, well, boring. But I'm sure there's a market. Seems someone put a decent amount of time into it based on the screens.

Wow, after watching that clip on youtube I know why I do not play that game.
Just not my type of game, not that it is bad.

I did not mean to imply that you where bashing the game. I was just thinking of the game coming out before.

And how many people get into things like this now.
It may not do well at all, but there are quite a few that are talking about it on forums so someone must be liking it. I guess we will see.
But I agree with you on the game, it is not for me as I would go crazy waiting for something to happen. I would guess that it has a lot to do with the economics of the farming world and things along those lines.

It sounds like many of you are very interested in this great and potentially life changing title. If you want to realise your childhood dreams of driving a tractor or slaving away for 18 hours on your own farm, you can download the demo for the farm simulator 2011 here.
