Dox is back at work, except instead of modding drivers, he has built and is tweaking a .inf modder tool for nVidia desktop to notebook compatible drivers. I realize most folks won't mess with this, but there are still those that just can't stop experimenting to get that extra few points in benchmarks or FPS in games.
A few caveats, only recommended to mod desktop drivers, current version only has English language control panel, (don't know if that will change) and it apparently only works with 265 and above drivers.
It DOES however, cover an immense number of GPU models. Check it out if interested:

Hello all a few notes on this app.
The reason i recommend you only mod desktop drivers is because if you modify OFFICIAL laptop drivers which has multiple infs you must delete all other infs in the folder for the mod to work.
However if you modify oem released drivers which has one inf you can ofcourse modify that and it will install - hope this makes sense.
The reason english language in control panel only is due to a combination of me wanting speed from the modification process. I did plan to release this version whereby the app would detect the control panel version and add in the lanuague file. This was done by reading the sourcedisk section. However the latest beta driver 275.27 Nvidia changed things so this is no longer possible. So i took the 'meh' atitude to language files
I am planning a tool to adjust Directx and OpenGL settings (once driver is installed) after this tool goes 'final'. Again since 265.xx nvidia changed the way driver settings and forcing driver settings are installed and called upon, hence why this tool is only for driver 265.xx and above. In the past directx and opengl settings were stored in registery which was easy for modders like myself could gain access to, obviously nvidia took notice of this and changed it.
You will still find modified drivers for performance/quality out there which still tries to force hacks through the registery... i dont want to point names but do not use them as you are basically still using vanilla drivers!
