Hey guys!
I recently bought a new laptop! I'm happy with the purchare, but it keeps on lagging when I'm playing Flight Simulator X with Ultra high settings, I've realized that's because my computer can't hande this settings..
So Im looking for a solution to solwe this problem
This are my laptop spesifications:
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU Q820 @ 1.7Ghz
4,00 GB Ram (Memory)
64-bit Vista
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570
Ill gues that the graphic card is the problem.
Thanks![]()

Are you using the Acceleration add-on or did you apply the latest patch? It's supposed to take advantage of multiple cores.
Also try using a low resolution (ie 1366x768 for 16:9 or 1280x800 for 16:10)and reduce the dynamic scenery. -
YOur GPU should handle the graphics. Because mine(ATIX1800) bieng 4 years old can run the aircraft and graphics setttings on the highest setting.
Try turning down you scenery settings. -
The Hd4570 is a low end card. Dial down your graphic settings.

Hey
thanks for the answers. Wingut: I have'nt applied the latest patch or used any add-ons. Should I install the latest patch? -

Yes! you definitely need/want the first one that adds multi core support, its almost necessary for this title.
Without it your only using 1 core on that 4 core cpu and your at a disadvantage since quad runs a lower clock speed per core than a single or dual core cpu, but after the patch you will be destroying the for-mentioned cpus' performance in this game. -
Thanks.. Where can I download the patches? (Link)

FSX SP1 English - downloading right now! right one?

Check out the thread in my sig!

Yeah, there is a SP2 also I think.

Thank you so much! I hope it works!
-
NICE! I see that the simulator uses more from the i7!

Vicius & Wingut - Love you both for this. Downloaded the latest patch (SP1 and SP2) And it works extremely good with ULTRA HIGH SETTINGS!
THANK YOU!!! -
Happy to help. Now go crazy with your VFR flight plans.

Even after the multi-core patch, a faster Dual Core will still destroy a slower Quad but since you have the i7, that won't matter at least.
I found that frame rates almost doubled in this game when I checked the Preview Directx 10 box under graphics settings, custom as well. -

This game takes full advantage of a quad it should scale pretty linearly, a 2ghz quad (q9000) should be as fast as a 4ghz dual (that doesnt exists) and of course when you overclock a quad you get 4x the benefit instead of just 2x the benefit.

Just remember to not fly your plane into any buildings.

Ill keep that in my mind

We did some benchmarks on identical systems (NP8662), one with a 2.0 Ghz Q9000 and the other with a 2.85 Ghz Core2Duo with exactly the same settings, same drivers, same hardware, OS etc. The 2.85 Ghz Core2Duo out performed the 2.0 Ghz Q9000 every time in this game by quite a lot. I thought something was wrong with the results so did the bench a number of times with exactly the same results each time. FSX favours clock rate over number of Cores, after all it was designed with Single / Dual Core initially. See the results for yourself in my sig.
I wouldn't be surprised if the i7 only uses 2 Cores at a higher clock in this one as opposed to 4 at a lower clock.
