I am getting this very annoying issue once in a while. While playing online (I have not tried single player), MW2 and BF2 Reality Mod, on both games while online my frame rates drop every once in a while to about 1 fps, and they they go up, then drop, on MW2 it takes longer for it to start. Here is another catch, on MW2 the bars goes down from 3 or 5 bars green to yellow 2 bars then to 1 bar red when it goes through this slowdown process, however on BF2 reality mod my ping does not change. It started about a week ago it is driving me insane!![]()

Hmm. Did you try to update your drivers? Or have anything in the background running that would cause this?
I would definitely try it in Campaign mode, just to see if it is your internet or not. -
Yeah I updated my Graphics Driver everything seems normal in task manager. I am going to try campaign mode, however BF2 does not have it but worth a shot I guess. -
OK so I played single player BF2 Reality Mod for about an hour and half or so and nothing no lag. I even covered my GPU's vent to raise the heat, the laptop got so hot that the left side of the keyboard stated to get warm, and my Laptop did not skip a beat. Now my eye is on the Router which has never done this before, however it is 4-5 year old D-link G router, and on the internet it is fine, and Gaming it was fine before as well. Is it time for a new router? I was worried it was my GPU or CPU now I am really relieved.

Hello brother
Covering the GPU's vent is not a good idea, just so you know
Anyway, for MW2, I suggest you to try to connect to internet with a ethernet cable and not wirless. (I assume that you use WIFI?)
I had problem with my ruter few months back, but I was not able to even connect to game sessions, but when I tried with cable it did work for me. Give it a try. The suttering problem can be any background processes Jones said. But also lag as well. Also, I have not played MW2 but, in for example GTA is like, if the host has bad connection this will couse low FPS (even FPS-drop to 3-4) and back to normal again.
Let me know how this turns out for you -
Ya, that's a good idea. Try and run your internet directly without the Router, and see what happens.
Lagging on a few games
