Is the Nvidia 7950 GTX D9 card faster and better then Nvidia 8600 GT thats comming out on the new Santa Rosas ?
Thanks .

A simple and probably already answered response: yes. 7950 GTX > 8600 GT

conditionally. 7950 GTX > 8600M GT until about this time next year when many of the new games will be DX10 exclusive

Is it smarted to buy a laptop with a 7950 Gtx or a laptop with a 8600 GT?
What if there is aa 8600 GT with 512mb dedicated ?
If i dont wait for something with 8800 gtx to come out .
I guess its the same question ? -

it is a matter of taste. The 7950 GTX will run all the games now and in the near future like butter. When DX10 gets really big you will find yourself SOL. 8600GT won't melt the games like the 7950GTX but it will handle them as well as the 7900GS, which is a pretty good card by most accounts. Also, the 8600GT has shown itself to be really overclockable, so it has more potential in the future to stay good than the 7950GTX. So the question is, can you deal with performance that is in the medium high range (instead of blazin' like the 7950) for a long time, or do you want the fastest (until the 8800 and x2800 etc. come out) deal on the market for about a year and then don't mind buying a new rig for playing DX10 games?

will a regular 7800 be able to handle most games today
-
Yeah, it'll be able to handle most games. Newer games that run on DX10 engines (like Crysis that's coming up) will probably only run at low-mid settings.
The Go 7950GTX is only found on notebooks that are 17" or larger, while the 8600M GT can be found on laptops that are as small as 15.4". There might even be 14.1" laptops that have the 8600M GT, when Asus releases the A8Js Santa Rosa refresh in June.
Keep that in mind as you decide. But yes, Go 7950GTX > 8600M GT. -
The 7950GTX is more powerful than the 8600M in raw power, but the 7950GTX is only DX9. But here's the real thing to consider: while the 8600M has DX10 capabilities, since it is less powerful than the 7950GTX, any DX10 effects will likely be clouded by the lower resolutions and effects you will be able to run at. The 8600M GT comes close to the 7900GS in terms of synthetic benchmarks, but real world performance has shown to not be quite the same. The 7900GS still gives better framerates from all accounts. And though the 8600M GT does have overclocking potential, the overclocking benefits will eventually by hindered by the fact that it only has a 128-bit memory bus (vs the 256-bit of the 7900 series), which will limit how much it can actually process effectively (i.e. send and receive the information to and from the rest of the system). So even if the core is running at high clock rates and can turn out amazing processing numbers, it can't access the memory fast enough to pull the information in to process, so you'll eventually lose the benefit. This is why the 7900 series will remain more powerful until you get a DX10-specific game.

I want a 7950 DX10 then

I should be getting an 8600M GT by this weekend... looking forward to testing it out
-
Where will they release a 8600 Gt by this weekend BRA ?
-
Asus G1S from ExcaliberPC.com. They said they got some in today. They are 256MB version though, in case you were wanting 512MB.

lets just all get a 8800 GTX and be done with it ok?
-
This might be a good time for Jalf to step in and tell you that DX10 isn't a miracle worker.
-
And he will also tell you that all the fancy effects in DX10 is available in OpenGL and partly in DX9.
-
This has probably been answered a bunch of times also, but when is the 8800 supposed to be released?
