    Hey, guys
As the topic suggests my laptop is acting a bit strange. I can rest assure the issue is not heat related, as the temp is <80 degrees celsius and I've previously had my laptop hit 90-105 degrees celsius before Asus installed a new heatsink, at which point it never shut downed. What I suspect the issue is stemming from is inadequate voltage to sustain my overclock, currently 560/470 on a 8600m GT DDR2 - core/mem. I've OC'd to 600/428 with no issues, so I redistributed the clock increase, tested for artifacts, and all was well. My laptop has yet to shutdown during 30min of 3dMark06 (4055!!). Nonetheless, after about 10-30 min of gaming in GoW, Crysis, etc. the pc shuts and auto reboots [no BSOD, just instant off then on]. Has anyone experienced the same issue?
    ps- I'm on A/C power.

Why don't you back down on the clocks a bit? And how do you know if it's not heat related? Do you log your temps?

Yep, I do. Never goes above 80. I have the rivatuner log set up, so it keeps a record. And, I also have a OSD of the temperature while I play.

What about the cpu? I think it shuts down at around 90C...

CPU is undervolted and running stable. Never goes above 75 degrees celsius,

    try it with factory voltage/clocks.

It's fine at all stock, or else I would've returned the pc already. The only issue I have on all stock is the downclocking issue with powermizer, but that's widespread and we know the cause.

You might be pushing it too hard, hard enough that its ability to OC is being dimished.

I suggest you back off the OC a little bit...10% or so, 20% or so, etc, until you find a stable point.

Do you absolutely need to overclock/undervolt? Does it make a noticeable performance difference beyond benchmarking?
Also, I think it might have more to do with the undervolting.

A pure reboot really looks like a CPU issue, GPUs I tend to see screen lock, Memory BSOD. All in my experiences of course.

Also, remember that some programs for whatever reason can be more or less sensitive to a Overclocked GPU,CPU,Mem. It really depends on where and how the calculation/data transfers take place. My old desktop was rock solid OC'd prime tested, 3Dmark tested, and yet would BSOD/reboot in BF2. Just by backing down the settings a bit cured it of that. But then again, you just never know.

I however would point big nasty fingers to an undervolted CPU if it's being used (UV'd) while gaming.

maybe your CPU is too undervolted.

If it's rebooting it can still BSOD, you may not have the system setup to hang on bsod, but simply auto reboot.

If it isn't a BSOD, then you may want to try backing off your gpu oc and see if the errors still occur.

Are you sure you adequately undervolted your cpu and tested thoroughly? 16+ hours of intense cpu tests? not blended ram/cpu either, just pure cpu testing?

I thought I had an stable undervolt, passed several 2-4hrs tests. Ran one overnight and it failed at 4hrs 52mins.

Close RMclock and go to the RMclock folder

Run RMclockwipeout.reg to revert all the settings back to factory.

    Try again...

It does sound your voltages are too low, but it should still BSOD and do a memory dump.

If it still continues then it might be your OC.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I'll shut down RMClock and see how it goes. Will post back an update later on today.
