    Hi,

right I'm thinking of getting a laptop to play a game as currently my Frames Per Second is quite bad on my current laptop.
    The game requires:
    _____________________________________________

This is the specification of the laptop:
    _____________________________________________

As you can see the graphics card is the iffy bit I'm not sure about.

This is the website with the details regarding GeForce 8400M GS
GeForce 8400M - Notebook and Laptop

It has the details on below.

Please can someone post below if this will have a stable enough platform to play the game smoothly with a decent Frames Per Second.

    Thank you very much!
    Karan :)

It would help if we knew what game it was. Because some games are more CPU intensive, while others are GPU intensive.

Any laptop you get today should be able to play the game you want, based on those specifications. Even one with an AMD Fusion for $200.

lol, so how many Frames Per Second do you think I should receive from playing that game on a laptop? Also would it easily slow the laptop's performance over a short time or will it be able to handle it easily :) too many questions? xD

Are you buying the laptop new or used and how much? the laptop you posted is about 6 generations out of date and their should be plenty of newer laptops that are better.

i am buying it used. and the seller is prepared to sell it for £200. He said he bought it last year as an Xmas present but wasn't wanted. It got used very rarely. If there is a newer model that I should think about getting that I can get for roughly the same price used that would be something I'm interested in

that should be about average on the price, but if it's a year old also think about the battery (since battery shelf life for laptops is a year, year and a half).

if it's ok with you it'll be plugged in all/most of the time then it's an ok laptop for web surfing, watching movies, office documents.

and yep it should run your game fine

$200 is a discount on a laptop. You probably won't find anything decent running around nowadays for that cheap.

If I was looking at buying a new laptop which was decent for gaming but not over-priced what would I be looking at? :)
