    Sup guys?

    Well here's my problem - Iv'e purchased a laptop a year ago (gtx 970m, i7-4710HQ, 32gbram)
at the beginning everything was great...

Month ago the problem started to appear... I had color flickering all over my screen while gaming, took me a few days to realize that problem is in the video card 970m (while working on the internal card to problem occured).

sent a message to lpc-digital and great, I still had warranty. they shippend the computer back saying they replaced my video card and motherboard.

Well the main problem is fixed (color flickering) yet the laptop still isn't working as it used to.
I played CS GO for a few month on this lap so I know how it should work -
My FPS has dropped.. while I use to run the game on a steady 300fps, now I scratch the 200...

Lowering the settings/resolution of the game cause an fps drop!, for some reason while running the game on high settings Im getting 200fps~, on low setting low res I get 100... how could it be possible?!

I played with all the settings (computer and game), updated drivers.. reset the entire computer.. nothing worked.

I just did a benchmark test, to have another idea of how my computer works.. if any of you know if this score is fine or not I would like to know. - http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/10111606?

Thanks for reading, have a great day.

    Edit -

    Just downloaded BF4.
I ran 150-180 FPS on Medium, and 60-80 FPS on ULTRA...
    Temps - cpu - 75, gpu - 63 (max values).

Seems like everything is ok?... then the problem is only with CS GO? why can't I ran it as I did before ?
How come lowering the settings and resolution cause fps to drop ?

Did you check GPU temps? Maybe they didn't do a great job with thermal paste. Also check your Windows Power Profile and make sure it's set to "high performance" and not "battery saver" or something else.

Just checked temps now... played for 20 minutes, temp didn't go above 51.

    cpu was around 72~

    seems pretty low..
    thanks

Didn't CS GO just get upgraded to Valve's Source 2 engine? If so, could that account for the lesser FPS?

They did recently update their hitboxes and some other features which caused FPS drops for many people and people with potato PCs to be unable to get 60fps, yes.

But this time I would simply attribute his crap to CS:GO being a poorly coded piece of crap. It always has been, and always has had finicky performance, and people simply swallow it and adjust settings and resolution and all sorts of stuff around it, without admitting that it's poo. I've restarted my PC to gain 200 average fps in CS:GO multiple times in the past. Re-opened everything that was running before; except that CS:GO simply had 200fps extra. It's stupid.

Well that can cause the fps drop from 300 to 200 on high settings.

But what about fps drops to 100 when lowering the settings?

    Thanks

You should monitor CPU and GPU clocks and % usage during all your tests, to see what is causing the drop in fps. Perhaps the GPU is downclocking when lowering settings and you just need to force it at full speed or something.

You might set the Nvidia Control Panel setting from Adaptive to Performance, either Globally or for the App specifically.

Here are the settings I use for benchmarking:

And, don't forget to enable the 3d Advanced settings as well:
dont forget to set it to use advanced 3d settings..JPG
