Hey, I just have acouple questions about graphics cards, I read the the other threads and didnt find exactly what I was looking for although they are very helpfull.

I want to play BF2 on normal grpahics, Im buying Dell E1505 with Intel® Core™ Duo Proc T2400, 120 gig hard drive, 2 gigs of ram and 256MB NVIDIA® GeForce™Go 7300 TurboCache graphics card...

Will that setup allow me to play BF2 smoothly on normal to high graphics?
I know the E1705 and the 256MB NVIDIA® GeForce™ Go 7900 GS would but that would cost me alot more money than I want to spend right now.

    Thank you for your time!

No, the 7300 isn't really meant for gaming at all. It helps smooth video playback, plus very light gaming. the only games it would have a shot at with higher settings are older games such as ut 2004, maby. the 7900 is a desktop replacement card, the 7900 is worlds apart from the 7300. if you are gaming, it would be best to wait, you will be VERY dissapointed with the 7300.

You would be best served upgrading to the X1400 256MB if you want to play games comfortably. 2GB of RAM will help your in-game performance.

The 7300 should be fine to play at normal settings, nothing maxed out or anything. The 7300 card actually ranks toward the lower end of GPU's, so if you wanted to play the high end games I would pass on this card. I would probably pick up the x1400 instead. This is a mid-range card and should provide better gaming ability. Check out the Mobile GPU thread that Chaz put together.

Ok, thnx for the help so far...

I was wondering if someone wanted to give me the specs of a Dell E1505 or E1705 that would be sufficient to play BF2 on normal to high for $1500.00, thats about how much I would be willing to pay.

    Thnx again for the time!

Also if you plan on getting a Dell check out the various coupons this site has available. You can knock out the price of a e1505 with just one little coupon. It's a wonderful thing.
