Hey it has been a week that I purchased my laptop and It has crashed at least 3 times. It first started when I wanted to install Bully scholarship edition... So every time I wanted to install that game my comp crashed. It even crashed while I was surfing the net with firefox. It is Ok now but I just want to know if this is normal or if I should send it back? Is it because of Windows Vista 32bit?

its a software problem. did it give an error message or anything?

its definitely not a problem with your laptop, rather you may have messed something up software wise. nothing a reformat cant cure

Are you getting a BSOD? Does it say anything like a driver is causing it (any sort of <driver>.sys message)?

No theres no message. The desktop, explorer and evrything else just stops working even tho the pointer is still mobile and functional. I just reboot the laptop. Although when this happened I did hear a *click* noise. It makes that noise usually when I turn off the comp.

Hmm. That's definitely odd. The click noise might be the hard drive parking its heads or shutting off. Any programs you might suspect that are causing this? It sounds like Windows itself is crashing pretty hard, you might want to recover to a time when it didn't do this or just do a full recovery.

Well the clicking noise was always there before the crashes. I don't have any viruses either. It all started when I wanted to install Bully using Daemon Tools. During the installation, my laptop crashes at 2% and I hear the clicking noise. So I just restart my laptop. It is Ok now... It hasn't crashed yet.

Well that makes things more interesting. Sounds like your hard drive might be having trouble reading itself. If you could do me a favor and run a read test in HDTune (download: http://www.hdtune.com/download.html) that might tell me a little more about the drive. Post a pic if you can! :)
You can play around with that utility and tell me if you recognize anything weird.

Hm. That did nothing... maybe it's not the hard drive itself... I'm not really sure. Clicking noises generally mean the hard drive is struggling with something, perhaps a bad sector or something like that. But if HDTune is reading okay maybe that's not it. I think this might be beyond me, sorry.

lol, well It didn't crash till now... maybe It was a software problem? It may have resolved on it's own. The first time it crashed, I restarted the laptop but It did not boot up windows vista so I had to restart it again.

firstly what laptop and spec have you got.

using daemon tools does this mean you are loading the game without the disk.
i heard about a very nasty virus that liked to hide inside game files until it was unleashed using daemon. at the moment its just a guess but it helps if we can take this out of the equasion and then think about something else.

    I got the MSI GX630
Operating System Windows Vista Home Premium
CPU Type AMD Athlon X2 QL-62(2.0GHz)
    Screen 15.4" WXGA
    Memory Size 4GB DDR2
    Hard Disk 250GB
    Optical Drive DVD Super Multi
Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT DDR3
    Video Memory 512MB

I did mount the Image using daemon tools. My laptop is working fine now I just don't know what the reason why my laptop crashed.

Try right clicking >> properties, then go to the "Customize" tab and click on "Restore Default" under the folder icon frame.
