So, I just found out the potential source of my 980m related issues.

I was frustrated that Ryse was stuck at 60% GPU utilization again for no reason despite running at 60FPS at 90% load earlier in the day so I randomly decided to unplug the laptop and the GPU load/performance didn't change. Does that mean that the problems I've been complaining about for the past few weeks are power related? Any way to check? The laptop says plugged in and charging but maybe the voltage is too low? I'm using an extension cable at the moment.

I've gone into the Nvidia control panel/power options etc. and done everything I need to there. No idea what's going on.

Or is Optimus f*cking me over and making bad switches? Is that still an issue?

Unplugged the external monitor by taking out the HDMI cable and now it's fine.

So it's an HDMI issue then? ADNBHSAKJDHADASKLDJN.

I know you said you went into the NVidia control panel, but did you check to see if the battery boost is enabled, maybe even set for 60fps? If that function was messed up and thought you were on battery that is exactly how it would act. I guess it doesn't make sense why only using HDMI though, hmmm.

Regardless you may want to try a clean driver re-install.
