Hey guys I just recently got a new 1080P HDTV and I tried to hook it up to my laptop today to use as an extention of my laptop monitor, but I couldn't get the resolution higher than 1360x768. I think that is the native resolution for 720p TVs so it kind of made sense that it would output that, but I couldn't display 1920x1080 or 1280x720. Every other resolution up to 1360x768 worked fine however. I am running on an x1400 and was hooked up via VGA connection. Do I need to hook up with DVI (well HDMI to DVI connector since the TV doesn't have DVI) or am I just doing something wrong. The TV is an HP LC4276N. Thanks for the help!

You need to hook it up to HDMI to get to 1920x1080 resolution.
