I tried output my laptop's video signal to my Sony LCD TV (1080P). I am output at 1080x1920 by the picture isn't centered on the tv screen. The top and right part of it is cut off and there is about a 5cm black border around the left and bottom. I tried searching for setting in the display control and RivaTuner to no avail. Is there anyway I could fix this?

EDIT: I should mention the TV supports HDMI but my laptop (XPS1210, T7600, Geforce Go 7400) only had VGA output

hey man, I output my laptop to a Sony tv through VGA and it works quite well. It's a Sony Bravia that supports 1080i but the actual resolution is 1366x768. I downloaded the Omega drivers for my video card which, I dunno, gave me a 1366x768 resolution option for my laptop so it now matches perfectly with the tv. It is also a very sharp picture too despite being only a VGA signal.

So...perhaps you need to find the correct resolution. The Omega Drivers ( http://www.omegadrivers.net/) comes with something called MultiRes which I assume enabled support for a lot more resolutions than I originally had.

Somewhere in the nvidia control panel you have to set the output signal type corresponding to your country, as some use PAL or other types.
Also since you only have VGA you`ll get a maximum resolution of 1024x768.

That, or some TVs have a computer input setting which is meant to eliminate overscan. Can't hurt to try.

Good point Lithus .When I connect to the TV , the AV button allows me to choose between PC, S-video,AV,TV,DVD etc.
I always choose S-video since that is the connection I use.

I use a Nvidia card and Omega drivers are for ATI

I'm pretty sure VGA can go a lot higher. I output to my monitor using the same port and I get 1280*1024 fine.

I use a VGA connection so s-video stuff doesn't really apply here
