Hi there. I decided to plug my laptop into my router to see if it was my network that was failing, but i didnt get to test it because my fps was 9 when i was unplugged. I usually get above 50 fps in Call of Duty 4 on max graphics, and i heard that your video card sometimes underlclocks on battery. I have a Gateway laptop 64 bit vista. If anyone could hlep me it would be great.

Thats probably part of intels speed step; its done to increase battery life, i believe you can disable it is using rmclock? I would need someone else to come and confirm this.

Intel speedstep has nothing to do with a GPU downclocking. Powermizer is the issue.
    Here is a tutorial
Download riva tuner and enable driver level overclocking. NOTE- you dont have to overclock for this fix, just use the program.

There is no such thing as accidental overclocking it. You can't accidentally overclock, you have to diliberately click a slider, move it, then click apply and go play a game with the OC. All you need to do is turn on the constant performance.

It will decrease your battery life a lot to play video games on battery. If you enable that setting you can also expect a decrease in battery life when not gaming too. It's not worth it to game on the battery. Just find an AC outlet and plug in before gaming.

Gaming will only get you about an hr on battery is your PC usually lasts about 2-3hrs without gaming. When you enable this option, do it right before gaming and reboot, then start gaming. Thereafter, disable it, reboot, and use as normal for regular battery life.
