Before I get flamed for re-posting or posting in the wrong forum please just hear me out.
    Right now I have a sony-fe with a go7600 clocked at 350/350.
I'm looking to get an agp desktop card that is at least comparable but that will work with a 250w psu.
What I want to know is will an agp Nvidia 7300gt DDR2 give me at least the same performance as i get from my laptop gpu? The specs look close enough but i know that agp is a slower format so can anyone help me out?

I'd suggest the 7600GS, if you want to do a year.

The Go 7600 is the mobile version of the 7600GS,

What is the biggest difference between the 7300gt and the 7600gs? And do you think it would work with a 250w psu?
The reason I was looking at the 7300gt is because i just need this comp to play WOW at 1280x1024 near maxed out and to me it looks as though it would work.

the 7600gs will work on a 250w psu. the biggest difference is that the 7600gs is much better.

    desktop > laptop

the cards in desktops are ALWAYS better, if they have the same name.

    Do you even read?

They DON'T have the same name.

Unless you're illiterate and believe that "Go7600" is equal to "7300GT".

I just installed a 7600gt in a friends desktop who has a 250watt PSU. (AGP)

It blows the mobile 7600 out of the water. The main reason he wanted the new GPU was to play WOW and he maxes it out (no AA) at 1280x1024. He is very happy with it. But i'm not so sure a 7300GT will give you much of a performance boost over the go7600 unless you overclock the 7300GT.

for games like WoW its hard to really see "performance boosts" since the requirements aren't really that high for it. One of my friend has 7300 LE and WoW does really well on that.

I would love a 7600gt but im afraid that it wont work with the weak psu. Plus I can get a 7300gt or 7600gs for round $80 and the cheapest 7600gt is over $100. Also let me reinterate that this computer will not be used for much of anything other than WOW, right now it has a FX5200 that hasn't worked for more than a year (I burned it up overclocking).
So i guess its safe to say that both the 7300gt and 7600gs will work fine and that both should perform as well as my laptop...right (even though they are agp)? with the 7600gs being a little better?

Ok now let me ask you guys this how well will a 6600 perform compared to my system and do you think my psu would work with a low powered 6800? The reason I ask is because I might could get either off of ebay for about $40.

The 6800 is a power hungry beast. I know for SURE it won't work on a 250W system.
