Is the MBP the only laptop currently available with WLED screens and 8600m gt vid card?

I had a dell order for an m1330 but I've seriously considered my gaming needs this last week and I decided to cancel it because i don't have faith that it will meet my gaming needs.

Yes it is for now as LED is used mostly with thin and lights .

However I'm sure its just a matter of time before we'll see more LED gaming notebooks .

As much as I dislike Apple , they did good with the 15"w LED mbp .

I'm generally a gamer/windows user myself. The most recent MBP 15.4" seems to be the most powerful 15.4" gaming notebook these days (there's irony there, I know it). Plus it's got little extras like LED backlighting, backlit keyboard, thin body, OSX, high price, etc.

So I crossed over and got one of these MBPs (see sig). All I can say is, WOW!

    Mini-Review:

I am really enjoying some of the OSX apps, although none of them are particularly killer, garageband is fun to play around in. I've been using iTunes for awhile now, considering I've had an iPod for awhile.

So its a fun OS to check out.

Installing Vista was really simple with BootCamp. I had the drive partition 60/40 OSX/Vista. I may need to rethink that and redo the partitioning, but for now it is fine. I mainly use the windows partition for gaming and watching television.

Compared to XP, OSX seems much more intuitive (this is coming from a life-long windows user). Compared to Vista, OSX is only slightly more intuitive. I had an easy choice for most of my basic tasks when it was between OSX or XP, OSX was just a pleasure to use. But now that Vista has really gotten itself together, I really have a neutral preference when I boot up my MBP.

Blech, anyway, I've gotten a nice 3750 in 3DMark06 at 1440x900 with this puppy using the 162.18 drivers. It plays Supreme Commander at native resolution on high settings (minus AA and only low Shadows) hovering around 24 FPS and that's all I really need.

Plus, an MBP is only 70% of the footprint of similarly specced 15.4" PC laptops. It looks dwarfed when you put it next to an ASUS 15.4" but it performs just as well!

Well, I'm happy with my macbook pro, I just use bootcamp to play windows games. I was reading on a websitethat by the year 2008, more than 25% of the laptops will have LEDs. It's from a website, but I forgot where.

It's not. The only other 15" laptop that has a GDDR3 8600M GT is the Asus G1S. Those two laptops are the same in terms of graphics power.

The LED is only for the backlighting of screens though...I want to see some actual LED screens.

My Asus S96J is only 1.25" when closed. And only about a half inch when open.

    Apple's are overpriced.
