I lost me BF2 cds but still have the CD Key. Since this is the second time I lose them, I actually have 2 cd keys. Now, I can buy a pirated copy and use the original key that I have. I wouldn't be doing anything wrong, but this would encourage piracy and I don't want to do that. Anyway I can legally download the game?

Another thing is, if I buy a new DVD copy would it have the new patches or would I have to download that too?

I am really getting tired of downloading. Whenever I format my notebook or get a new machine, I have to download new patches, armored fury game expansion, euro forces and special forces. This takes me 4 days if I download through the night.

Anyone knows when can we expect BF 2142?

    Thanks in advance.

I doubt you can find a way to "legally" re-download bf2.

The DVD Copy probbly wont have the lastest version at all, so you would need to download.

Well, if there is so much downloading, why dont you burn the Armored Forces and Euro Forces expansion packs to CD's or DVD's?

BF2142? Sometime around August/September would be my bet. :)

yea man. I have the CD versions of both BF2 and BF2: SF, so I took them and mae a custom BF2 DVD so that I don't have to be popping the discs in and out every few minutes. ALso doing this I threw in the patches and PB updater etc into a seperate folder so I dont have to bother downloading all that crap either.

There is no way as far as I know that you can download BattleField 2.

We can't discuss anything illegal regarding pirating/downloads; NotebookReview.com does not support such activities.

Have you considered installing EA's Downloader? As I understand it, it is supposed to keep track of your purchases games, so if you already have registered BF2 with your CD key, I think it would recognize that. If that is the case, it should be able to download the BF2 game directly to you without you needing your original CD's. I haven't tried this, but it's certainly worth a shot. And it would be a legal and official way to go about doing it.

EDIT: Actually, this may not work. I was just looking at the EA Downloader page, and it only lists the BF2 expansions, not the original BF2. So the original BF2 may not be an option even, and you would in fact need to reinstall it.

No idea if EA does this, but many game manufacturers would be willing to sell you a copy of the media(CD or DVD) at a much discounted price, if you already owned a legitimate CD-Key. I had a friend who got a replacement CD for his Diablo2 setup back in like 2001 from Blizzard, for about $12 shipped. The game was still like $30 back then, I believe.

Problem soved, I got a dvd copy of a friend of mine. The EA downloader only offer expansions, patches and BF special forces not the original game. EA downloader is great but it doesn't work that way, you can't copy the patches and/or games to a cd or flash memory. You have to be online to be authenticated and then download the game.

    Thanks everyone.

MonkeyHugger, the game runs great on the Vaio. I tried high setting and that was ok but when you change the view of a vehicle it goes bad. I now play it on medium settings, AA off and 100% view. It's unbeleivable.

    BF2 loves ram the most.

Surprisingly, even on my Vaio, which only has a 6400 turbocache, I can run the game at 1024x768, with options on medium and draw distance on 100%, No AF.
