    Hello all,

I was wondering if anyone knew the best performing/latest driver for the 8600m GT that still has Powermizer working. I have one 3 hour class with no power outlet available and with powermizer I can just make it through, but without my laptop quits out around 3/4 through.

    Thanks,
    Urthwhyte

Check the latest drivers at laptopvideo2go.com. They are extensive descriptions of available features. If you download a modified inf, then powermizer is automatically enabled. If you undervolt your CPU, you will also save some battery, Flipfire has an awesome guide here in the forums.

I'm aware of LV2go, that's where I get all of my drivers from, but many of the newer ones will only downclock to the low performance 3D, not all the way to 2D settings which is where the last 30-45 minutes of my battery life seems to be coming from. The last ones I know for sure to do so were 176.48, but these are fairly low performance compared to the 177.xx and 178.xx series and so I'd love to upgrade.

Try the 178.13. I think Powermizer works properly.
