    Hi!
    1) I was wondering which notebook should I buy which will serve me for around 3-4 years. The latitude d820 or Inspiron 1720?

I will be playing medium games, like GTA5 etc, or its coming series with the laptop, so you can understand what kind of intensive games I would be playing.

I like latitude's make but inspiron is so kiddish!

And I also like the latitude's long battery uptime! 4 hours,

    2) If I do web browsing etc on Inspiron... how long will the 9 cell battery last? compared to Latitude's 4 hours uptime...

    3) Im a website coder and engineering student for electronics, so was wondering which one would be better, specially for programming's light work, like php coding, etc, but would also like to play games

I was disappointed by latitude's nvs 120M, very few vertex pipelines and shader pipelines, around 8 and 4 respectively, on notebookcheck.net

On the other hand, Inspiron doesnt offer 7200 RPM hard drive, and also im concerned about its heat and battery time! Inspiron is also poor while selling DVD burner for 660 USD, this makes me sick, and also the fact that even when the graphics card is a 256 mb dedicated, 2 GB RAM on DELL's configuration menu is still written as "SHARED", when configuring!

    4) And also, will the 256 MB 8600M GT be any better to handle games smoothly, without a single freeze for 3-4 years on highest settings and resoultions around 1024, if not 1280 etc? medium games, if not the latest games atleast.

    Please reply!

    Thanks!

This thread is not that old but old enough that the OP already got his/her answers, so I'm going to close this.
