League of Legends Players?

I started playing League of Legends this last December after I saw a mention of it in a thread here on the forums. I'm totally addicted to it, and rejoice every time I play since I know that it is free.

Anyone else play? I'd love to play with some people from the forums!

My username is bonfiggy on the US server if anyone is interested. I'm level 23 currently, and typically play Nocturne, Mordekaiser or Heimerdinger.

 

My roommate got addicted to it when his friends introduced it to him. I never got into it because the graphics looks very 2D-ish and cartoony for a DotA-like game. Not my style. However, I will give Riot lots of credit for releasing it free and such. I wonder how the indie developer survives their operating costs by releasing the game free.

 

They make all their money on in game items and characters. They have about 60-70 characters but you can only play about 7-8 free ones at any given time. So one week you find a character you like and when he goes away for a month they hope you buy them with real money so you can play him anytime. They also have skins to customize your character that are not necessary but cannot be won, must be bought with real money.

BTW my handle is Peter Bazooka, I usually play weeknights with a few people I know IRL but always looking to play with other people as well.

that works too... (i do that from time to time) or tank ryze... I did that all the time before the ryze patch.. people were like are you doing and when the whole team went for me i never died

 

I love LoL. The only thing you really need to pay real cash for is character skins....besides that, everything else can be bought with in-game currency earned by playing games. Sign me up!! My id is vdfk.

 

I would say they do more than survive: They sold of a major part of their shares to some Chinese company. If they had sold the whole company they would have gotten $350 million for it!

Still inferior to WarIII dota if you ask me. I played it for 1 week maybe and gave up, too sucky graphics, no teamplay and coordination such as dota. And I hate to play with the same heroes all the time. No offense to the players, but it seemed like a really noobish game compared to classic dota, it's just the way I see it.

 

apparently you have never play a arranged or rank match.... people have a clue in those

 

Love the game. I was actually gunning for Heroes of Newerth more initially. But I quickly found that game rubbish. The dark tone of the art makes it difficult to tell who's who sometimes. It felt like Dota point for point.

Action starts off faster on LoL than Dota, one reason why I love it. A quick game and I'm out to work. But right now, I'm on a hiatus because my com's going through some mess.

Plus, totally addicted to Mordekaiser.

I got on last night to play a quick game before bed and had several friend invites! That was pretty cool.

BTW, the new champ sneak peak is pretty exciting. Vayne looks like she'll fit the bill in my missing champ lineup. Plus, I have 13k ip to burn right now, let alone 3 weeks from now.

 

Level 30, been playing since October/November. I play ranged DPS most, usually Caitlyn, Miss Fortune(recently), or Ashe. I play a lot with friends in my dorm, but we usually have trouble finding a 5th.

lvl 30 player as well, play primarily Garen as a tank, hes by far and large the best tank ive used. Having played every character about 50 times lol.

 

used to have a great team but they all left to go play wow..... i was a beast with either tank or ap rammus but i have been in the mood for support like karma and janna

 

Funny, I left WoW a while back, and picked up LoL as a crutch to help with the Wow cravings.

 

Oh yea! Totally forgot about Rammus, another favorite hero of mine. His taunt is evil. lol

 

I'm 30 in LoL as well, yet I find hon the FAR superior game. One person mentioned HoN=dota, which is fairly true. LoL has a much lower skillcap!

 

It's not a lower skillcap, its a very different one. LoL characters/heroes are much weaker than their HoN/DotA counterparts, thus they rarely rely on invidiual prowess. Thus the focus of LoL is having a lower lvl cap, "quicker" gameplay focused fon teamplay to quickly end fights.

I like DotA and LoL alright. HoN is too much like DotA and thus I don't see much reason to play it haha. Looking forward to DotA 2
