I just picked up a beta key from Gamespot for LoL and so far I'm having a lot of fun. The game is free to play and is inspired by and created by the designers of DOTA. Buying items from the store is still a bit of a pain, but much less so than DOTA. It takes a while to get the hang of things, and is best to play in a low level practice server.
I'm curious if anyone else has had a chance to play this game, and if they have any thoughts on it.

have you tried Heroes of Newerth?
league of nations looks like a flash game. -
Hey im playing LoL atm i was a massive DotA player and got into the HoN Beta.
Hon was so imba at the time i couldnt stand to play against the same chars all the time.
Anyway LoL is coming along well they are up to about 35 champs now.
The best part is the take alot of feedback from beta testers and always let us know whats happening on the development side.
My ingame name is BaldMan, look me up im allways trying to help new ppls. -

when i get it ill try and test it out and let you know if it works outside the exclusion zone
not sure if its to do with ip address which will be blocked if its outside the usa. -
I'm not sure, but I think it's only the beta keys that are restricted by zone. From what I can remember this game is set to release worldwide on Oct. 6.
Great game so far, match making is spot on. Community is also generally pretty pleasant. -

Yes I have. I was in the HoN beta and I felt like the majority of the people I played with were horribly rude, racist and just generally unintelligible. This was my primary reason for no longer playing HoN and switching over the LoL.
LoL by comparison has been great so far. People are much nicer, friendlier, and almost always willing to help out/give pointers when you point out you're new to the game.
Of course, your experiences may vary, but I've been playing very frequently the past few days and I've only met 1 person who was moderately unpleasant and rude.
Give LoL a try, you have nothing to loose as it is a "free to play game"!
