I just saw the trailor of LFD2. It looks awesome. I hope they provide something new, exciting and thrilling. Watch the trailor:

Looks cool, eh, and nice avatar. -
The unrevealed swamp campaign sounds interesting. I'm still a bit reserved about L4D2, but I have increasingly become more open to it.

Im in the same boat, I had some good times with L4D but not enough good times to buy LFD2, when its like a $30 game I'll get it but for now I think I will pass.
Also I still do not like the cast of characters. -

its the same exact game.
sure, its better, refined a bit more, but it is also the same game. that is what's bothering me.
watch the actual gameplay video.
agreed, the characters are random and don't have the same unique flair as the original bunch. -

They should make this game 1/2 off for anybody that owns L4D then I would get it. And anybody that doesnt have L4D can just pay $50 for this and skip L4D since this is basically replacing it.
Even if they say they are going to continue to do updates and expand content on the original game, once you have a new one out you ruin the old game because the community is going to split and most will move to the new game, or just quit playing because it was too early and too much of the same to bring out the new one. -
vinceboiii Animals are friends, not food.
what was the point of making a part 2? and what reallllly gets me about this game is that its 4 people max. i'm so use to playing cs on 5v5 scrims i wished it was a 5 men team instead of 4. thats reallly why i don't play it or haven't bought the game i mean i've played it but yeah its alrighttt

5 man team would be harder to manage, but it would be cool if they added an option for a larger/smaller team to change up the gameplay.

Plus with the way the economy is right now, they need to make more games and call it a sequel just to get the usa going again. -

i don't care if they make a sequel. i just don't like that they are releasing the same game and calling it a sequel.
If they are going to release the game for $50, they really should do something like release the game for 50% off for owners of L4D, and sell L4D 1 and 2 as a package for about $60 -
I think they just want to make money. So, without highly designing and planning, they launched L4D 2.
I hope they would stop launching it and delay it until next year(with more updates). -

Hope this game will get more blood and gore as I love it with more realism. -

hate to be the bearer of bad news, and its not that i just flatly hate L4D2, i see some good in it...
but the graphics in L4D2 are like a hybrid between L4D and TF2... less realism... you also have bullets that cause zombies to instantly be fully on fire, which is *cool* but not realistic at all. -
spradhan01 Notebook Virtuoso
Hope there is no any sort of spread weapon with which one shot kills all zombies on screen.
-
so incendiary rounds aren't realistic...
but zombies are?
as for it being the same game...
it is the same game if you completely ignore the setting, characters, the updated director AI, the updated game engine, the weather effects, the different crescendo event mechanism that means you cant just stand in one spot and wait it out, new weapons, new zombies, new boss zombies, new witchy etc.
Personally I think the support valve gave tf2 has given everyone a false sense of entitlement to what they expect to get from other valve games.
I probably will buy l4d2 soon after release and the one thing i hope they've done...
fixed the bloody matchmaking/server problems!!!
theres been times when there has been 8 of us ready to go and cant find a server. -
They're only making L4D2 to make money from the Xbox 360 because it would be like 4 gigs of DLC and there is a limit on DLC for the 360. It makes me hate the 360 more.

compare that to something like cod:modern warfare and modern warfare 2.
i look at these two games and I think: man, MW2 is a sequel to MW. awesome.
i look at left4dead1 and left4dead2 and I think: man, do they really want me to rebuy the same game?
that's just my opinion, but it is shared by quite a number of folks i hear. it really doesn't have anything to do with TF2 for me. its about the fact that they just aren't sufficiently different. yes, i know there is a lot of stuff under the hood and little gameplay enhancements, but the game really looks like it is still L4D1. I don't know what it is about it other than that. I can't quite describe it. -
It wouldn't have been as bad if the title was something like L4D Expansion Pack.
I'm still getting it tho -
yea, I'm a bit disappointed in valve about releasing l4d2 so soon, But I'm stll getting it

I played it at E3 on PC and Xbox 360 and it's definitely improved over the original L4D . . . more fun and more well-rounded. I'll be buying it.
-
It's so strange seeing the game in daylight, I never really realized that all of L4D1 completely took place at night.
-
I'll be buying it too, you can't really go wrong with Valve...
