Just fired up Left 4 Dead on my machine and im having some issues with it..

It flies along at around 70-120fps but randomnly drops to 20fps... its extremely annoying and I have no idea whats causing it, I'm using the laptopvideo2go 191.56 Windows7 64bit driver..

    Laptop specs:
    2.4ghz T8600 Core 2 Duo
    4gigs of ram
    8600m GT 256mb
    etc etc

Im running all low settings at 1280*800 and care more about framerate than eye candy.. Any ideas?

Try official drivers like my current favorite, the 186.42

NVDIA's 186.81 drivers are the official ones so get them... they're found on the NVDIA website.. if i were you i wouldn't use the 186.42 drivers.. ppl have stability issues and powermizer issues... get 186.81..

um actually its 186.81 with the most recent powermizer issues. 186.82 was the only one I could get to work properly. 186.42 had me hitting in the high 70s low 80s when idling (compared to 42-45C atm w. 186.82)

Both 186.81 and 186.82 have the downclocking issues. From my observation, it happens with different notebooks. Some may have the issue, some may not.
