Left 4 dead pre-order

you can pre-order left 4 dead on october 15 tomorrow on steam for those who are interested. game comes out on november 17

Thanks for the info. Do you know if the buyer gets anything for preordering? you known the usual things like posters, map, character gears (I doubt it this is not mmorpg afterall), or a bonus dvd with making of Left 4 Dead?

 

as of right now there is no information about any bonus items only 10% off (~$5)

 

well i'm getting this game for sure, but i dont know if i should pre-order from steam or not. 10% off is decent i guess...i'll have to think on this

 

Gonna pre-order at the local gamestop, steam is cool and all but I like having it physically in my hands as opposed to downloading. (ya i'm weird)

i think the 10% pre-purchase discount is there until the game releases.

Did you activated your steam forum account yet? The forum account is different than you steam account and need to be activated through a valid email.

OMG I just watched a trailer for this. I've been watching it here and there for a while, trying not to over hype myself, but now I HAVE TO GET THIS GAME!

 

well, i dont know if this is for steam pre-orders only (i really dont think so), but i believe if you pre-order right now u get the DEMO which will be released on November 11th earlier.. i believe pre order "members" get to recieve the "demo" which includes 4 player co-op on november 4th. i know this is definitely true but i cannot remember where i read it. possibly the l4d website.

I may have to stop by gamestop as well. Steam downloads take too long. I want to get it as soon as it's released and IMMEDIATELY install and play. Not wait 5 hours.

 

ya thats true. but it comes out on a weekday so i'l be in school and i'll just leave my computer on all day to download until i get home. then its GAME TIME!!!! kick some zombie butt!

You planning on playing on the laptop? The lenovo T400 I'm getting has the same specs as your laptop and I didn't think the video card was good enough.

 

yeah i've been playing the demo on about medium settings and i've been getting decent framerate for my standards (~20-30 i believe, but i'm not certain because i haven't measured the framerate lately, plus i haven't found much time to play these last few days. i'll measure it tonight or tomorrow night and i'll post here to let you know the exact framerate, with some screenies too )

20fps is NOT smooth for ME; i dont like it when it falls below 50fps i can tell immediately even at 45

 

lol i would like framerate like that too but look at the differences between your computer and my computer. hah. so i mean, realistically, 30 fps is fine for me. but like i said, this is just from random looks at my fraps fps reading in game when i have chances, so it may be higher, it may be lower.

 

After playing more, maybe I will buy....

And after putting like 14 hours into the demo I can say that I made a good choice. ;]

I mean, I play it at 1680x1050 on medium settings with like 50+fps on my 8600mGT, and it's still amazing looking.

I love it.

 

FYI there's a Valve Complete pack on sale on Steam right now, Valve's entire catalog (CS, CS:S, DoD, DOD:S, all HL series games, OpFor, Blue Shift, CZ, Portal, TF2) and you get Left 4 Dead, and it's $99 for all that. Amazing deal from a company that makes awesome games.

I played the demo a bit and it was fun, not sure if I'll buy it or not.

 

Meh, I have half of those games already. If they had orange box + left 4 dead though, I'd do it.

 

Wow, that is a truly a god darn steal from such an awesome company as Valve. 13 kick-a$$ games for $99, I need to buy it immediately.

 

I own all of them already except for CS:CZ and DoD:S (Neither of which I'll ever play) or I'd buy it, amazing deal.

 

Yeah same here. Good deal, I just wish I had the patience to wait to buy all of the games in one.
