I love these kinds of games and can play them for days on end. LOL Please let me know what you like and dislike about the game so far.

Just played it twice around, first on advanced, then expert. The way I see it, it's a direct upgrade to the first, everything about it is better, well except for maybe your preferences on the charactors, but I like change. It's just all around more fun than the first demo was, and unlike the first game, playing it the 2nd time around actualy did feel different, but I think that's mostly attributed to the way the weapons are randomly layed about. No longer do you simply find tier 1, or tier 2 sets of weapons, but just completely random ones spread all over the maps.

What I like about it most, that's a definitely welcome change, is that crescendo moments aren't just several minute boring campfests against a wall, but you actually HAVE to keep moving because they really will not stop unless you deactivate whatever you had to turn on to keep moving.

Performance wise, it's the same as the first, but visually looks much better. The animations on each zombie is more fluid, there's a huge amount of dismemberment, blood, and gore in this that is far above what was in the first, some are even saying it's just too much gore.

    Some screenshots I took,

    Deagle
Just about to be killed by a witch
    Tank!

the game has a lot of improvements of L4D that i just wasn't aware were going to happen.

it is more than just a map pack and 2 game modes. the feel of the game is different. and very bloody.

As I said above, runs the same fps as you'd get on the first l4d. If you got 100fps in the first, your going to get 100fps in l4d2.

You know what, that's exactly how I feel and I think how a lot of people feels. That this is just L4D1 with new maps, one or two new special zombies, maybe one or two new regular zombies, and new weapons and melee weapons. But then a buddy of mine was surprising me about things I didn't know about like the defribillators and boomer vile bomb

urgh I hear ya, I just got borderlands, now I gotta get this, then I gotta get dragon age... *sighs*

To the rest of you guys, I also heard early on that there was gonna be some form of random level generator at least in various parts of the level, is that still true?

Supposedly the AI director will open or block off different paths depending on how the Survivors are doing, making the level easier or more difficult to get through. I didn't see anything like that in the demo, but maybe it's just not there yet.

Also, apparently there are going to be multiple paths at some points, with the longer tougher path rewarding the survivors with good equipment and supplies.

I am having a blast playing this demo, there's the single player and then online/friends/quick match. This is an excellent game. I am loving it.

it definitely hovers somewhere between sequel and expansion pack.

the "moving events" definitely change the fundamental gameplay, though. instead of boarding up in point A and surviving for x minutes, you have to move from point A to point B facing similar waves of zombies...

that part is what changes the fundamental game, and it's such a simple change (which, granted, makes a big impact) - but the point is it could have been expansion pack priced and integrated with the first game. $29.99 or something

of course, when you compare it to map pack sequels, like RSV:2, which also sold for full price ($60 on consoles! hah!) this is a steal at $50. :/

I am not sure I will be getting this game right now but probably down the road when it gets cheaper. I still don't see it worth it for full price. Hell I had a hard time paying full price for the first one...

As for being an expansion or a sequel, it is not exactly either. It just is, what L4D should have been. They took the time to improve the formula and add the things they wanted. I believe the formula still has a lot that can be improved upon and I hope that instead of releasing a L4D3, they focus on improving this one and adding content.

I still wish they would make character-specific abilities or roles that have a mayor impact. The game seems fun but I don't know, I still get bored with L4D1 after an hour or so playing. Maybe when they release the demo for everyone it might pick my interest.

As for graphics... I don't see much improvement at all as some are saying, maybe I am seeing something else haha, but I definetly feel the bloodier experience helps a lot.

I would have to agree, I bought this and torchlight and it was like $69.99, which was less than how much it costed me to buy Demon's Souls for PS3, and you know what, I'll definitely be putting more hours into these two games over Demon's souls so from my perspective and comparison, this is well worth it, and there's more content in the game than I expected too. Like the adrenaline and defribillator, and more modes. This is partially due to me following the game early on and then lost a bit of interest and stopped, but I'm just saying, if anyone else was in that boat, you should take a look at the full list of features and better yet, watch some gameplay vids or something.

Yeah the demo was great. I like the new weapons. Especially the Deagle, AK, and Machete. It's just that the southern environments don't appeal to me as much.

I really liked it too. The improvements to the graphics are subtle really, but together make a nice upgrade. Some depth of focus, blur effects, better textures on guns and characters. The new gore effects on the zombies are awesome too. The dismemberment and increase in blood makes more difference than I thought it would. Can't wait for the full game.
