This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Legal Unlimited Game Downloads?

    my friend lives in Hong Kong and says the internet cafes have all the latest games (probably pirated) loaded on them.

    For like $1.50 an hour you can play all you want. He said the entire desktop is covered in shortcuts to each game, and they roll carts around with dum sum snacks, and you have a phone at your desk.

    Seems almost as good as unlimited downloads, but you're not at home...

    Good luck trying to convince EA Games and other gaming studios.

    @OP
    Steam and Direct2Drive is the closest you can get to "game downloads". There will never be a subscription based video gaming industry.
