I'm in the market for a new notebook replacement and it looks like the Lenovo T410 fits my criteria, all except for the video. I am by no means a gamer, however I would like for this system to still be usable when Blizzard's Diablo III comes out. No telling when that will be so who knows what kind of system it will require... does anyone have any thoughts on this? The other system I'm looking at is the HP Envy 14, but I don't see myself getting that in my hands until possibly two months from now (one month and a half from now for it to come out and another half a month for them to build and ship).

The Quadro NVS 3100M is a GT218 core that uses business drivers, so it scores worse than other GT218 (G 310M) so er, it'll likely be playable, since Blizzard tends to make the minimum requirements for their games quite low.

But you absolutely will not get all the delicious eye candy, nor will you get a nice high resolution, either. The Mobility Radeon 5650 in the Envy 14 will give you much better results.

Yea blizz games tend to scale down pretty well, Is a 14" laptop what your looking for? I'd say if your cool with a slightly larger case go with the MSI gx640. Alot more power for your buck. And if you think its to flashy get the barebones version which looks alot more "professional". Oh and 3 year warranty standard. Cant beat that.

Awnh man, I had it all narrowed down to 14", but now 15.6" is looking more like something that would satisfy ALL my current requirements! Argh!

Unless you have to buy one now, the upcoming ASUS N82JV is a 14" notebook with a Geforce GT335m GPU. You may have to turn down some settings, but it will get close to high details without having to give up the smaller form factor for a 15"+ notebook.

No offense but... blizzard hasn't even put out a preliminary release date on D3 yet. SC2 was announced in 2007, and is finally coming out 2010. I wouldn't expect D3 for at least another 1 to 2 years. And even though Diablo is a big franchise for blizzard, it pales in comparison to the SC series, so they've probably been putting more dev time into this game. All that said, Blizzard games do scale quite well. I know people who can play warcraft 3 on whatever Intel IGP was in the 13" macbooks from approx 2007. I would wait and see what kind of graphics SC2 requires, and make a decision from there.
