    I have a Lenovo Y510.

    Specs:

    Intel Core 2 Duo T5750 2.0GHz CPU
    2GB of 667MHz RAM
    Nvidia GeForce 8600M GT 256MB DDR3
    160GB 5400RPM HDD
Running on Windows XP Pro SP2

I used 3DMark06 for my benchmark results.

I overclocked my card with Rivatuner 2.22

    Default: Core clock 475MHz
    Shader clock 950MHz
    Memory clock 702MHz

    Overclocked to:
    500MHz
    1000MHz
    739MHz

My drivers are version 179.28 (Forceware)

    3DMark06 Settings:

    Resolution: 1280 x 800
    Anti-Aliasing: None
    Filtering: Optimal
    HLSL VS Target: 3_0
    HLSL PS Target: 3_0
    Repeat Tests: Off

    OK! Ready for the results?

    Results:

UPDATE, I ran it again, this time I took a screenshot
    New Score:

    SM2.0: 2139
    HDR/SM3.0: 2036
    CPU Score: 1769
    3DMark Score: 5082
    [IMG]
    http://img166.imageshack.us/img166/8770/3dmark06testresultshv7.jpg

    Old Score:
    SM2.0 Score: 2130
    HDR/SM3.0 Score: 2036
    CPU Score: 1744

    3DMark Score: 5060

I was really suprised by the score. Not one 3Dmark06 score on notebookcheck.net for this graphics card has a high of a score as this. I was expecting a 3500.

So what are your thoughts? Is this a decent score?

They benchmark at 1280x1024, not 1280x800. My overclocked DDR2 card scores 4800 at that resolution. Run the benchmark at 1280x1024 and report back.

And a screenshot of your settings/results would be nice. I know you posted the info in text, but it's good for verification ;)

No idea, I've wondered that myself. I always take PNG screenshots, but exporting to Excel would probably be the best choice (In addition to a screenshot).

Dang. Oh and about the running it at 1280x1024 resolution. I can't change it any higher then 1280 x 800 in 3Dmark06.

AH! The 3DR file is like a zip. Uncompress it and it contains: Results.xml SI.xml Handle.txt, and default.enc. Just open up the results.xml in you web browser and find the results. You have to look a bit to find the score.

Here's the link to the file: http://www.mediafire.com/?dnxy43mgejo

Your laptop screen must have a native resolution of 1280x800, right? It can't benchmark at a resolution higher than what your monitor can display.

That's right. I noticed your "signature" You have a Dell Inspiron 1520. Doesn't that also have a 1280 x 800 native res? Because your 3DMark06 says "3718 @ 1280x1024". And wouldn't that not beable to run at that resolution?

Your score though seems a bit low for an overclocked DDR3 card.

My monitor has a 1680x1050 resolution, so 3DMark06 tests at 1280x1024 for me.

It's a DDR2 card. I did that OC a long time ago but right now am running at stock clocks and using a better driver than back then. I should probably update my sig to reflect that.

Question: My graphics card's temp at websurfing (and such) is 54-56C and hardcore gaming is 77-80C. Is that too hot for a 8600M GT?

Yours I know is a DDR2 card, I confusingly combined a quote of yours with a response to the topic creator. :)

Temps look fairly normal for that card OP, although a bit higher than what I like.

No, that's fine. Anything close to or in the 90's is too hot though.

    Silly silly :p

    your temps are fine.
general guide line: 80-85 is a bit hot, 85-90 is getting dangerous, 90+ is something is WRONG.

    Very nice :)

For the screenshot, could you post the thumbnail link, so that poor folks with lower-res screens don't have to scroll to see it? Thanks.
