    i tried to put ubuntu on my laptop and i get this error on my e1705 about server X or something (literaly, server x) then going back to my windows partition my hal.dll file was currupted... help? please thanks

    Reinstall windows from a recovery disc or partition.

    oh i just did a chkdsk /r and things work now on windows, but i cant get ubuntu to work whats wrong?

    Run this command when you get the X Server error:

    Code:
    sudo dpkg -reconfigure xserver
    And set it to VESA 640x480 mode.

    That will let you boot into the live CD, then you can install Ubuntu and the ATi FGLRX drivers to get full 3d and proper res.

    i was using WUBI to install ubuntu, thatl still work right?
