I've noticed in a great deal of games that I play that the graphic details when going from low to max is barely noticeable.
The only game to ever have a massively different look for me has been:
- Command and Conquer 3 w/Kane's Wrath Expansion
What other games can you guys deem "amazing" when moving from low/med to max/ultra setting? I'm talking pure eye-candy!
-
CoD engine, EGO engine, CryEngine, UE3... Pretty much every game.

Star Forge Quaggan's Creed Redux!
A few actually and here are a few I can think of at the moment off the top of my head...
Mass Effect 1/2
Dragon Age: Origins/Awakenings
Dragon Age 2
Crysis 1
StarCraft 2
Basically what he said...
-
I never noticed a significant change in the COD engine for example.
I'm just looking to pick up new games that will take full advantage of max/ultra settings and give me stunning visuals.
So far Witcher 2 and Dragon Age 2 come to mind to be added to my new gaming library

Mechanized Menace Lost in the MYST
Bad company 2 maxed out on DX11 is beautiful! going from dx9 high settings, and watching my friend play on PS3 which is just nasty looking.
-
Supreme Commander. The huge maps just look flat and boring on the lowest settings.
-
crysis 1???

Star Forge Quaggan's Creed Redux!
I mentioned it already and yes there is a SIGNIFICANT difference between Low and High. The gap shortens immediately between Medium and High. -
Oh god yes. Open Crysis, play it on Very High settings for a bit, then change it all to the lowest settings possible, and you'll see how big of a difference there is.
As for the MW2 Gulag videos - the setting that makes all the difference is whether you have Specular Map on or not. -
SC2 has phenomenal changes from low to high.
-
in quake3 you could literally reduce the quality down to 8 color lego looking maps.
-
I'm not sure what the problem is with BC2 (I'm assuming it's drivers) but my 6950 which I've unlocked to a 6970 plays DX10 at max with 60+ FPS but only manages 11-15 FPS on DX11.

Starcraft 2 - On low it looks like a dog turd.
On High it looks like a totally different game. Ultra High & Extreme dont really look much different to me than just Very High but I play Very High on my laptop and Extreme on my Desktop. -
Most AAA PC games have significant visual change from low to max settings. Console ports usually have only settings for light/shadow and texture quality, so difference between low and max settings... emm... lower ))
-
Civilization V (which I finally enjoy playing). The difference between Low and Lowest is significant.

My AMD Radeon HD 6970m eats BF:BC2 on Dx11.
The difference between Dx10 and Dx11 is so low that unless i check with fraps i dont notice it at all.
Your card should handle Dx11 better than my underclocked desktop 6850 turned mobile gpu.

The only game I've played that has NOT significantly scaled in terms of graphics when tuned from lowest to highest settings is Minecraft..

S'all about the texture packs for minecraft.
Stock textures are like 8x8?? with mod you can go to 256x256 performance seems the same for me for the most part.
I like 64x64 or so seems a good middle ground. 256x256 is just overkill for minecraft since there is only so much you can do before it looks "over done"
Besides there really is not low/high for minecraft lol its so limited in config, not even a gamma setting that I really need on my laptop. When its dark its like pitch friggin black on my laptop screen and I cant see a thing.
List of games that have a significant change in looks from low to max settings?
