Hey i have read the stickies and other threads but cant find the answer im looking for.
I Have the 8400m GS and would like the best and newest driver possible can someone show me in the right direction also how do i know what driver i have atm? I currently get 4.1 for aero experience and 4.7 is there a driver without overclocking i can get a better score.
Thanks in advance
-
you shouldnt worry about WEI(its crap). Check out www.laptopvideo2go.com and try out different drivers.
-
that score means nothing...download GPU-Z, google it and it will tell u what driver your on
-
Driver Version: nvlddmkm 7.15.11.5665 (ForceWare 156.65) /Vista
-
Also my GPU Temp it says its at 52 C this seem really hot right and im not even in game or anything?
-
no thats fine, if it idles between 45-55 its normal.
-
OK Thanks man so yer someone let me know about the best driver out now for 8400m gs and where to get it also how old is my driver?
-
your driver is pretty old. You should take a look at the link I posted above for drivers. I'm going to install 177.83 on my dv6700z pretty soon.
-
Do i just click on Drivers Section and download the Winows Vista 32 bit one is the driver for all Nvidia Chips or something or do i select model or?
Also You said 177.83 there is 177.85 and 177.89 why wouldnt i choose them over the 177.83? -
177.83 is an Nvidia Official one, the others could be betas or oculd be unstable as they are not really tested.
-
Ok So i should try 177.83 does anyone know would the driver model change the gpu settings at all like it wont cause overclock or anything like that that will decrease battery life right?
-
it won't magically OC your card.
-
OK i Installed 177.83
CSS FPS Dropped from 120 on Low settings to 75 and from 48 fps on most high settings to 17 Any ideas? -
Try diff drivers. Also did you use driver cleaner?
