Howdy! I just got a sager 5760 and I'm surprised at how slow some of the loads are. I have the core 2 duo 2.16ghz, 2gigs of RAM, nVidia 7950GTX.

The thing is, the games were demos running off my hard drive. I'm just curios as to why its loading so slow.

Could you provide some more detail about the game, and how "slow" the loading times are? It could be just the game.

Um. It was the demo for Dark Messiah of might and magic, Company of Heros, and FEAR Extraction Point.

While they games played great, they took upwards of 15-30 seconds to load.

if you recently put all of them on your hard drive then you should defragment, the same thing happens to me and defragging really helps.

Is that a ball parking estimate or close to exact load times? 15-30 seconds isn't too long. Great time for a water break, bathroom break, food break, eye break, etc. :) Oh and defrag is a great option to take.

Don't need to defrag after installing them unless you needed to defrag before installing them. You need to defrag when you put files on the computer and then delete other files, etc. Just adding files doesn't make you need to defrag.

I've noticed that a lot of newer games do take quite a long time to load. Just one of those things. F.E.A.R. in particular takes a really long time to load IMO. I also have a 100GB 7200RPM hard drive.

I would agree with notebook_ftw here; modern games take a while to load. Loading a level of F.E.A.R. on my machine takes a considerable amount of time, at least 30 seconds+. Yours is fast in comparison.

thats not very long compared to my notebook, BF2 multiplayer takes between 3-5 minutes to load, it really pisses me off. but thats probably because i have a 4200rpm HDD

everything is on low and off, it takes around 30 sec to load the map but takes forever on the "Loading complete. Verifying client data" part. Does this have to do with the hard drive or the network because i notice that the HD light is constantly blinking during this stage of the loading?

No wait, BF2 always takes long to load.

    BF2142 is much quicker.

Well if you're that concerned about load times, why not just get RAID 0? Doesn't Sager offer that option anyway on your machine? If I'm right it should come with a RAID controller, all you would need is a second identical HDD.
