just went to Can you run it to check compatibility with my laptop.

    graphic card easily cleared it.

    but the OS failed.

how about if i try running it in compatibility mode of Vista.

how good will GTA IV run on W7 with the specs in sig?

That's the problem right there

The game runs on Windows 7, don't worry.

Runs fine on mine man... and from speculation and estimate, my 570M (8600M GT) is equivalent to a little better than a 3650, so it should run fine, and it runs... decent on W7, i have ALOT of texture "pop-up" but i now know i just need more RAM.

GTA4 is a very CPU intensive game, though I would think a decent dual core should do fine. You do however, want alot of VRAM, because the game's video options contains a VRAM load indicator that shows how much VRAM is going to be used. Also that counter will only let you go a few MB above the total amount you have in your computer so, do what I do: max all your settings out except for the draw distance and save it for last. The game's default draw distance is already very good (I have it set to ~40). However, I have no experience with GTA4 with any other component combo than my desktop (Phenom II X4, Radeon 5850, 4 GB DDR3, Win7). Yes I do run it at 1920 x 1080 maxed out in every regard except for the draw distance (because of the VRAM usage), however I was still a bit surprised to have some choppy bits in the game, but overall it runs pretty well.

That Can you run it site is pretty worthless dont take its word for it

Ofc GTAIV runs on Win7 and with your specs you should be able to run it on medium settings

What a load of BS. Never use Systemrequirementslab again, it never works properly. I am running GTA IV on Windows 7 just fine.

Never trust systemrequirementslab, it just plain sucks.

It doesn't even do anything spectacular... just tells you whether you can theoretically and in lab controlled conditions run it. Searching a video of the game being played on the GPU you will be planning to get is a better bet.

Not really. All it does is scan your system for a hardware report and compare it to the manufacturer's "required" and "recommended" hardware list.

So basically you have a game that was made before Windows 7 hit the market so you get a "failed" when you compare your OS (Win7) to the "required" one (Vista).
