I'm looking for a new game to play with either the adventure RPG genre (nearly done with Assassin's Creed) or racing game. I tried GRID racing, but its not too good to control using just a keyboard.

    Any neat suggestions? :)

IMO, there isn't really good racing game right now. You can try NFS. Or, I recommend you getting PS2 and play console games.

For RPG games: Oblivion, Morrowind, The Witcher, Gothic I/II/III, Sacred, Thief III, Hitman II onwards.

Racing games: NFS Most Wanted, NFS Carbon, (NFS Pro Street sucks IMO) Colin McRae Rally 4 and Colin McRae Dirt.

By the way, Mount and Blade should find special mention here. It is an extremely addictive RPG game that has horseriding combat as one of its central features-something that no other game has ever had, not even Oblivion. It is free to try, and has a very vibrant community. Check it out here:

It's one of the most unique games I've ever played.

Do you prefer racing games or racing sims? If the later is your thing, you can't go better than rFactor (until iRacing is widely available, that is)

Well for racing sim I would recommend GTR2, a bit old but a very good FIA touring game.

IMO... Live for Speed (LFS) and rFactor (mentioned already by Zeve) are the very best non-commercial racing sims available for the PC!
Every avid racer should own them :D

Whilst they're both excellent games in their own right... rFactor in particular has a truly astonishing number of mods, add-ons, extra cars and circuits, etc etc available for it
