Does anyone know of some good multiplayer FPS's that are 20 dollars or less? I've been looking at modern warfare, CS:S, and Crysis. Are there any other good ones out there? Which one is the best of these three?![]()

Battlefield Bad Company 2: $19.99 on steam. That's your best option.
CoD4:MW is also really good--I've heard some argue it's the best CoD ever--but it's also about four years old, and there have been several more recent CoD games, including MW2 and Black Ops, which means that the multiplayer community is getting mighty thin. -
I won both MW2 and BO already, so thats out of the question. As for BFBC2, maybe, but I'm open to more suggestions.
-
I would wait for the STEAM Thanksgiving Sale if your short on cash; don't know which games will be discounted but will certainly have a FPS.
OR, check these sites for deals:
Steam, Direct2Drive, GamersGate, EA, and Impulse game sales

**EDIT**
As for good FPS:
Crysis, COD MW Series, BF series, Metro 2033, Bioshock series, FEAR Series, TF2? [it's FREE]. -
how bout add just $10 more for Battlefield 3?
-
I don't want Battlefield, I want more of a play for 30 minutes or an hour game that's more based on multiplayer. Maybe kindof immature in your eyes but idc. I don't know, I'm thinking I'd rather have that for my XBOX. The reason I was looking at Crysis and Counter Strike is because they're pc exclusive.
-
You're describing Bad Company 2, even if you don't realize it. It has a single-player campaign, but that's definitely not the focus. The focus is multiplayer, and matches--whether you're doing conquest or team deathmatch or whatever the other game mode is--tend to last 15-30 minutes.

Crysis 1 isn't PC exclusive since Crytek just released it on the XBLA and PSN. -
Save your money, just play TF2.
-
Can't go wrong with anything free.
A surprising amount of people still play COD4 and it's within your budget. -
Ok. Thanks for the info, I'll update with what I get here soon.
-
Oh. Well, I'll look into it.
-
I'd probably wait for a sale to pick up BC2. It drops to $5 all the time, and will probably do so even more now that BF3 is out.
-
This is a good point.
-
I bought BC2 for $5 last year around Xmas. From Steam.
The only game you listed that is PC exclusive is CS:S.
I would recommend TF2 if you don't want to spend a lot of money, because $0 is a pretty good price. -
Day of defeat
-
I have a copy of COD4 I got when I pre-ordered Modern Warfare 3 that I can gift you if you want.
-
Battlefield 2 Complete Collection
Battlefield Bad Company 2
Call of Duty 4
Crysis
Crysis Warhead/Wars
Duke Nukem Forever
I can't list everything but a select few games I like, all of which are $20 and will probably get cheaper during the Thanksgiving and Winter sale. Crysis is fun and pretty to look at. Duke Nukem is a good over the top experience (the PC version anyway). Some people are disappointed with those games but I like them regardless of any minor faults they have. And can't go wrong with Battlefield, especially classic BF2.. though BC2 isn't as good it's still up there! COD4 still has tons of servers and I like to switch between it and MW2. -
Team Fortress 2, counterstrike source, bad company 2, fallout, or the crysis series are all great FPS. Also STALKER is an.oldie but a goodie.
-
what about Borderlands? It always go on sale at 7.5$ on the GOTY version
-
Kingpinzero ROUND ONE,FIGHT! You Win!
Hard Reset? That game is awesome, worth mentioning thought.
-

It's not multi-player/co-op, though. Nor is it worth the full $30 asking price. Direct2Drive had it on sale last weekend for $15, which is closer to what I thought it was worth. -
L4D2. It was $6 during Hallowe'en and multiplayer/online coop is super fun
-
PAYDAY the heist?
-
Ooh Borderlands is awesome too, I forget it goes on sale from time to time! This game was a blind buy for me but I was surprised at how awesome it turned out. Highly recommend it.
-
Borderlands can get a bit grind-y at times. There's only so many times you can shoot ever-stronger bandits and wild dogs ("skags") with ever-stronger guns before you start to feel that we've been here before.
but for $7.50 instead of $50, I think it's nevertheless a great buy. -

Add $10 and get Battlefield 3.
-
Okay, what are you two talking about. He's asking for a $20 game on Steam. Battlefield 3 is isn't on Steam at all, and besides, it's $59.

don't buy the $30 russian version of BF3... BF3 has enough bugs and headaches without you manually going in and importing english language files...
I would recommend left 4 dead 2... it's an awesome game.
It was on sale recently for just under $7. You can just buy it for $20, within budget, or you can probably find someone in the steam trade forum who has an extra copy and would be willing to trade for some other game worth $10-15. -
It's funny how multiple of you mentioned it, because I got L4D2 when it was on sale and have already logged 8 hours in it, WITHOUT idling... and probably 15 or 20 by the end of the weekend. And I'll probably get CS:S and that CoD4 copy from that other guy.
-
Killing Floors, hands down the best zombie multiplayer FPS shooter ever. Better than L4D1/2 anyway.
-
Killing Floors? Are there multiple? Or did you just accidentally put an S?
-
Well you kill zombies on multiple floors, so it should be multiple.
-
Oh ok. And killing floor isn't too demanding so my bro could probably play with me... I don't know. It's a real hard decision.
-
Killing Floor is awesome.
It's a fast game, one you can aim with, you use iron sights since there are is no crosshair.
I like this a lot more than L4D1 since any game from Valve you shoot from the waist with a crosshair, so annoying and pathetic, don't know why Valve is so incapable of using iron sights or to aim without crosshair like that. -
Suprisingly ? Dedicated servers , optimised engine not as ty black ops , cheap ...
I'm not surprised ... -
L4D2
Sanctum if you like TD/FPS
Killing Floor
BFBC2
TF2 (Basically the Orange Box)
Crysis
Deus Ex
Bioshock 2
CoD WAW for Zombies
Brink
Far Cry 2
Borderlands
Arma 2
Medal of Honor
Aliens vs Predator (Multiplayer Dead though :/ If you could get a group of friends, still very fun.
)
Section 8: Prejudice
STALKER series
That's all I could think of right now
-
It's loads of fun, also here's the (unofficial) theme song for Killing Floor. Trust me you'll love it.
harry enfield: loadsamoney - YouTube
(actual ingame theme is lots of awesome death metal / rock) -
masterchef341 The guy from The Notebook
There's no wrong choice- L4D2 and killing floor are both amazing. I would recommend hunting through the steam trade forum for both to see if you can get it cheaper. I think you could get 2 copies of either game (one for you and one for your bro) for $20.
Both games were on sale recently for under $6.80, I think you could put up a forum post like [H] Anything under $20 total [W] 2 copies of L4D2
(or 2 copies of killing floor, whichever you decide)
someone would pick up on that almost immediately. -
Killing floor I guess it will be. My bros comp is the old one in my sig, Centrino, MR X300, and it should be able to play it ok. Definitely not L4D2 though.
Looking for a good FPS on Steam for $20.
