Hey guys. I am looking for a decent MMORPG to play.

I would prefer the following features:

    - Completely free

    - Downloadable client

    - PVP/Skills (Like Runescape/WOW etc)

    - Maybe even a forum

I have played Guild Wars, WOW and Runescape so i would like to play a new MMORPG.

    Any suggestions?

I have heard that Silkroad is quite bad compared to others out there.

    Thanks anyway.

    EVE Online

Heavy on PvP and skills. And once you get good/patient (i.e. PvP/Mining/Salvage/Trade) you can pay for EVE without spending a real-world dime.

Check out Shaiya or Perfect World. I actually haven't tried them myself but judging from the reviews and vid's on youtube they look alright. =]

You could try Last Chaos, its f2p although it does have an item mall.

Try Atlantica if you're into the turn based JRPG system. Runes of Magic has a huge flaw, and that's its sound system. The sound is extremely lacking (no chopping wood sounds, running sounds, etc), but the music (when it decides to come on for no reason), is amazing

The original poster wanted a free MMO... EVE Online is not free and it has associated startup costs before it can really pay for itself.

Yes. Dungeons and Dragons Online (DDO). And you really should do a search of these forums for "Free MMO" if you want more recommendations. There has been a glut of threads like this one asking the same question.

Thanks everyone for your feedback. I think i might try Powerfull499's suggestion of playing Runes Of Magic. Has anyone else played this game. Does it have Skills, PVP etc.

    Many Thanks

Yes, there are a lot of skills like WoW. The game is very new, I think it's 3 months old or something, so it's BRAND NEW! Yup, there are PVP and everything, just jump into the universe - if you have played WoW, you will learn it very fast.

    <.<

I'm currently playing Rappelz and it's quite... ok though it's sorta... Point and click game :/ Loads of skills though

Runes of Magic is also very good from my experience :3 It's basically a free version of WoW. Never pked before since I never got far but yeah, it does have a pk system if i recall...

DDO Unlimited, which has a free-to-play option, has not been released yet.

Unless you've been a beta tester, you'll have to wait at least another week.

Shaiya is quite good - Guild-Wars-esque, so it's more level-based, but there is quite an active world there with a very alive PvP environment.
