    Hello guys

I am a fan of the old Trek game, Klingon Academy. I used to play the game online years ago with people, but the online community has sense died out, like most other games do. However, the reason it died, was mainly due to technical details: The game hated any newer hardware than what was around when the game was released.

Well, around a year ago, someone made a fix that makes the game playable on pretty much anything. It used to crash or have graphical bugs, but now its perfectly playable.

KlingonAcademy.com Discussion Board - KA Vista fixes

I'm trying to get some interest going for it again, because its one of my favorite games of all time, and is the BEST game for Trek space combat, hands down. Bridge Commander fails in giving players the control of what KA gives you, especially if you compare the stock games. BC might have better eye candy, but you can't beat what KA offers to a Star Trek Captain.

So if anyone here used to play it or has it, I am trying to get a weekly game night going for it, Saturdays 7PM Eastern Time. The details are here:

KlingonAcademy.com Discussion Board - Game Night 7PM Eastern Wednesdays

[The Thread title says Wednesdays because it was changed but the topic title stayed the same]

    Thanks Guys

Its a 12 year old space sim that isn't free, but its basically adandonware since Interplay stopped caring about star trek games literally after this game was released. Sharing it would probably still be considered piracy though.

This game is currently, imo, the best game for trek space combat, its a lot more tactical than bridge commander, and dont even get me started on the point and clickery of STO. Its also the only one that i know of that officially supports joysticks.

The reason i am doing this now, is because it wasnt until a year ago that a lot of people could play this game again. A guy by the name of KOMAT made some patches that allows the game to run flawlessly on newer hardware.

This forum gets a lot of traffic, so i posted it here to see if anyone here has the game and would want to play it. It will play on anything, even netbooks.

Yeah man, I think that's great. I'm up for some old-school games. I'm tired of these huge monopoly companies like EA and Activision. I don't like this "buy our new maps every 3 months" and microtransactions and all that kinda' crap. I'm up for a game that I can get lost in and just play and not get bored of repetitive spawning and shooting.

    I'll check it out!

Hey teeth, it's your friendly ka moderator. ;)

On the point of KA not being free, well, if someone at the ka board would get off their butt and write Interplay.... that's all I have to say. :p
