Looks like ATI is pulling a nVidia w/ rebadges

That's also for basically integrated graphics. There's almost no point for DX11 on an integrated GPU. I agree a rebadging is kinda crappy, but for the types of functions that integrated graphics perform, the chips are more than enough. I'll start worrying if they start rebadging their discrete chips.

Yes but, i don't think it's fair to expect a redesigned architecture every year, i think expecting at least 1 extra generation of rebadges is my rule of thumb.

Rebadging at least twice is to be expected regardless of chip type or manufacturer... intel does it all the time (see upcoming arrandale refresh). The difference between refreshing and rebadging is length of time imo - you don't see ATI using cores from 3 years ago like you do with Nvidia today and the G92. I'd be worried if ATI is using broadway 2-3 years from now though for sure :p

Yeah it's a rebadge, but it's not an Nvidia rebadge.

Nvidia, rebadge making it appear it's a better GPU when it's just a rebadge, like making you think it's new...

This is not even a normal naming. If this was a Nvidia rebadge it would be equivalent of HD4870M rebadged with higher clacks to HD5870M.

The HD560v isn't even in the same naming scheme. And it doesn't claim to be improved, if you look at their site, it's claimed to be a simple GPU for HD viewing, but also being energy efficient. Looks to me for a notebook that has enough performance for the average person with great battery life.

So I wouldn't go over board with getting angry over this, maybe should read how this card is being marketed first.

Even more unclear is that the ATi page also lists the Radeon HD 5145, which is an OC'd HD 4570, and the Radeon HD 5165, which is a higher-clocked HD 4650.
At least ATi is clearly denoting that these are retreads with the different numbering system or lower numbers altogether; Nvidia's numbering/naming system is so ferkackt that the 9650M GS is from the 8 series and may or may not be faster than the 9650M GT (depending on memory type).
