It meets the min. So yeah.

Well, Vista can run on 512MB of memory. That doesn't mean it's usable though. Try the demo for some real answers.
-
ok, you can play it with absolutely no graphics at a frame rate of 10 fps. have fun with that. what are the reccomended specs?

Bioshock PC on overclocked 8400m GT vs. Xbox 360 version
I prefer playing any FPS on PC, but if I am going to have to sacrafise alot of eye candy I would just get it for 360. What do you guys think? -
Get it for Xbox 360. You'd have to get a $1500 computer to enjoy the same fildelity.
-
-
or since i have a pc that can already run it. stuff the 360.

Technically with oldblivion I CAN run Oblivion on my 1.8 GHZ Turion X2 with a GeForce 6150

Don't know how a Go 6600 128mb compare to a 8400 GS but I'm getting 30-40fps by using the MIN settings at 640x480...
-
hey its an aussie
the 8400gs is significantly better than a go 6600. so at 640 x 480 it will run fine. but since that is the lowest res you can play a game on of course it will work alright. at 1440 x 900 or similar ws resolutions, you won't be able to get that sort of framerate on low - medium.
@darkcond what res are you playing on? 640 x 480 or something a bit better? -

this is weird...I ran a SRL on my 5790 with a 7950gtx and I failed in the video card section in the recommended tab.
It clearly says 7900 or better, I think a 7950gtx is better then a 7900, weird =/... -
I'm playing it at 800x600

SRTEST says the Radeon Xpress 1150 meets the recommanded for BF2 -

I don't remember one...
-
Yeah, my setup failed the recommended video test.
I got about a centimeter ahead of 'minimum' on the scale.
I've lost faith in this site completely and utterly. Time for common sense, people. I think your average person can read labels and understand that if their part is shinier than the part it says it needs, then all's good. Don't need some dumbed down and flawed site to tell us if we can run something. Bah! -
Giving it a go on my Go7400 now in a minute....

So finally downloaded FRAPS and gave the demo a second try using 163.44 drivers. I was hitting around 25-30 FPS through most of the game until the very end when I was fighting 3 splicers with a hacked security bot.. which brought me down to about 14 FPS. This was all on low settings.. I tried it on medium settings for about 5 minutes when nothing was going on and hit around 20 FPS. I can't imagine how it would run if there were actually some splicers running around on screen.
Still very much on the fence about this game.. I just downloaded nTune and might try some overclocking before running through the demo again. Hopefully I might be able to squeeze a few more frames out of it. Anyone know how much overclocking would actually help? -
On the Vostro Overlcoking thread in the Dell section one user said a 10 fps increase/25% increase but it might not be this high for Bioshock. Theres only one way to find and thats by someone overlcoking and running the demo as you said.
Looks like Bioshock CAN run on the 8400 GS and a 1.6 ghz Core 2 Duo
