I love everything to do with LOTR, but i have never played a massively multiplayer game. I thought about trying LOTRO when i get my new Alienware m17x, but i'm not sure how games like this work...
Would it still be worth playing since its been out a long time? Will the game experience be different than if i bought it when it first came out? Thanks for the info!

Well there will probably be fewer people playing it. However it seems like most online multiplayer games have a faithful following even after the game has been out for 4-5 years.

yea lotro is still kicking, it even has an expansion coming out end of this year i believe, i played it alot and i would def tell you to check out Age of Conan, to me its a better mmorpg

If you want to play a very active fantasy based MMO, WoW is still the biggest kid on the block.

i would go for age of Conan looks very promising !
Don't be worried about enough people playing lotro because i think they have around 200 000+ players worldwide. Which is nothing compared to the 10+ million of wow but its enough i guess -
im sure people still play, online games are really popular.
i still play sa:mp
Lord of the Rings Online still worth joining?
