Ranks are all client side. Unless you back up your profile folder, you will have to start over again

Yes i am connected to steam... according to steam there is a way to restore the profile... i'll give u the link but i don't get it
https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=3991-EOAV-1596
I found the folder but i don't know what to do... the latest profile back up is still there but i don't get what u have to do according to this article.. and it doesn't seem to work for ppl... I have checked my profile under the community tab in the main steam and all my achievements are there but my profile has been reset. Any more suggestions plz? -
All you have to do is rename the backup file. Remove the ".bak" from the filename.

Tried that... no luck.. If i read that article correctly , u have to move it to another folder... i tried that too... I'm just putting some screenshots of what's in the specific folder of players....
In pic 1 and 2 i'm showing the top and the bottom of that folder... now what do i have to do there?
Also i tried another way... in the steam client , i checked the integrity of the files but no luck. Isn't there some way of retriveing the data from steam cloud?
Any more suggestions plz?
Thanks

P.S : This gets more weird... When i checked the integrety of the multiplayer files , my multiplayer stats came back but my sp and special ops still isn't working... this gets weirder by the minute... -
Problem solved... i had a whole backup of that players folder and i replaced the one on my comp with the back up... works now and haven't lost any stats...problem's solved but i'm not feeling happy having payed $60++ for this load of steam junk... someone needs to make dedicated servers now... I nver liked steam and this doesn't make me like it more.

i dont think steam is the problem. its activision/IW fault.

It's not anyone's fault. It's a data corruption error. You're blaming your car manufacturer for hitting a pothole.

it is either microsoft's fault or IW's fault for the existence of the pothole. the OS crashed and your stats data was being written to... bam. nothing anyone can do at that point. your data is left in an indeterminate state.
at best, proper programming can lead to exception safety. however, it is not easy to protect against OS failure, sudden blackouts, etc. as far as keeping data intact.
the question is- what caused the crash? was it microsoft's shoddy OS or IW's shoddy game? hard to say. -
