    I just got this game for christmas, and ever since I started playing it, it would crash every so often. The screen goes black, then comes up with a list of 10 errors associated with Direct3D and Direct X, most of them in the game.dat file. I have tried everything they tell me to do on the technical support website, I have unistalled and reinstalled the game and Direct X, I have downloaded all possible patches, and my laptop should have all requirements. My laptop has and 1.66 GHz duo core processor, 2 gigs of RAM, runs Windows XP Media Center Edition, Service Pack 2. I really want this game to work, and have expended all options to my knowledge. Can anybody help me??

    Well, i previously had HPdv5000 ( with almost the same specs as you ) laptop with NVGo7400 vid card, and I played battle for middle earth 2, and even the expansion pack, rise of the witch king on medium settings... and at a lower resolution.

    So its definitely not your hardware. Try checking software issues..

    Turns out I needed to update the my drivers for my graphics card, but now I'm getting a new error.

    Direct3D error 0x0x8876086a (D3DERR_NOTAVAILABLE)
    2 addresses:
    (unknown)(0): game.dat+241550 Debug: :poststaticInit+3390
    (unknown)(0): game.dat+1176743 Coord3D::add+190060

    Because of the severity of this error the game will now exit.

    Anybody know what this problem might be?
