    So I'm running the full version of 3dmark06, and I'm using the desktop in my signature, and I'm getting 15,749 total@1280x1024, 0 AA, optimal filtering.

    sm2.0 = 6030
    hdr/sm3.0=7275
    CPU=4844

    Isn't this a really low score... I see p78xx getting ~10000-11000

    It is 3DMark... which is based on the graphics card, not the CPU, so it wont make as much of a difference. ;)

    Try testing it with PCMark :)

    Look up similar rigs on futuremarks website to see what scores show up.

    it is?

    it would make sense that the GPU made a much bigger difference in the score, compared to the CPU... which doesnt matter too much anyway in comparison, in gaming.

    an OC'd CPU can gain 3,000+ extra marks. While the bench is fairly GPU oriented, it is also heavily weighted on the CPU. Much more so than vantage.

    True, OC that i7!

    My Desktop in sig scores 20 000pts in 06. You should be at around 21-22 000 yourself....

    Run 3dmark vantage instead. It is less cpu dependent than 3dmark06.

    I really don't know how.. voltage this frequency that bla bla.
    I also gotta apply some of my AS5 to the chip first i guess before attempting to OC.

    Only reason I didn't OC was because I didn't think I'd really see a worthwhile increase in the games I played

    you might not, but if you're benching then that will affect your scores. This thread isn't about your gaming fps its about your bench scores =]
