So I'm running the full version of 3dmark06, and I'm using the desktop in my signature, and I'm getting 15,749 total@1280x1024, 0 AA, optimal filtering.
sm2.0 = 6030
hdr/sm3.0=7275
CPU=4844
Isn't this a really low score... I see p78xx getting ~10000-11000

Looks about right for that setup on 3dmark i'd say.

what is your cpu overclocked to?
-
It's only at 2.66..
-
It is 3DMark... which is based on the graphics card, not the CPU, so it wont make as much of a difference.
Try testing it with PCMark -
-
Look up similar rigs on futuremarks website to see what scores show up.
-
it would make sense that the GPU made a much bigger difference in the score, compared to the CPU... which doesnt matter too much anyway in comparison, in gaming. -
an OC'd CPU can gain 3,000+ extra marks. While the bench is fairly GPU oriented, it is also heavily weighted on the CPU. Much more so than vantage.

wow that is a beast you have there and those scores look about just right. thats already xfire/sli territory-
oh its a desktop. hmm i dont know then about that score -
OC that i7 to 3.4 and run it again.

it is becuase your cpu is stock. if you were to up your cpu score you will see a big performance increase in 06...
-
True, OC that i7!
My Desktop in sig scores 20 000pts in 06. You should be at around 21-22 000 yourself.... -
Run 3dmark vantage instead. It is less cpu dependent than 3dmark06.
-
I also gotta apply some of my AS5 to the chip first i guess before attempting to OC.
Only reason I didn't OC was because I didn't think I'd really see a worthwhile increase in the games I played -
you might not, but if you're benching then that will affect your scores. This thread isn't about your gaming fps its about your bench scores =]
