    Example: Asus G1S-A1 w/ 8600m gt 256mb

I hear it has a very low battery life. If you underclocked the clock speeds, would you get a lot more battery? From like 2hr to 4hr?

Or is that asking too much?

Most if not all GPUs today will downclock when they are running on battery. I know its very hard to play games at the high settings I have when I use my battery.

Dont worry about underclocking, overclock and get more performance while its using AC.
